Redline bumped up to 8400 RPM, damn thats a lot of revs, also uses VTEC for longer than GS-R. *1997-1998 (&1999 for Canada) 79lbs lighter then GSR, for 2000-2001 models the type R is 35lbs due to standard AC. Acura Integra Type R Spotters Guide 1997 brought a whole new breed of Integra to the United States - only 400 of them to be exact! This was by no means your everyday Integra. 195 horsepower, no A/C, racing-inspired bucket seats, polished intake and manifold - the list goes on and on. A car designed for one thing - high speed track driving!1998 added to the limited thrill of the type R. The 1998 season offered a rear wiper, new front and rear bumper, other minor enhancements. The 1998-year imported a random 500 of 1000 of the marvels to the US soil.1999 again offered the Integra type R’s, but fell short of the US. The type R was only imported to Canada.2000 finally brought back the type R, for one last time. The type R for 2000-2001 came in Flamanco Black/ Nighthawk black, and Pheonix Yellow. Also Canada gets Phoenix Yellow along with Championship White. Gunmetal grey wheels (on yellow and black ITR's) replaced the old championship white rims. (Championship white rims still came on white ITR’s for Canada. Air Conditioning also became standard on the R’s. Titanium gear shift knob, a new Carbon Fiber look on the dash, console, etc. The ECU was also changed. What sets it apart from the GS-R...
