KATSUCON 2002 February 15th-17th
Baltimore, Maryland @ the Waterfront Marriott Hotel
The adventure to Katsucon 8 makes it the 3rd consecutive year to this huge convention, and my 4th Katsucon within 5 years. The new location was certainly big enough to accomodate the amount of people attending this year, and it was a nice change of venue from the 2000-2001 hotel. Being my 1st big East Coast convention, but 2nd one for 2002 (Ohayocon kicked it off), it was good seeing a lot of my friends on the EC, and some from here in the West Coast who travelled all the way out to Baltimore for it. Cosplay-wise, there were a lot of new costumes being presented this year for attendees to see, with emphasis being on Final Fantasy X. (Sure spotted a lot of Rikku's, Yuna's, & Lulu's, and the # will be increasing for each con!) Myself, I was able to wear my new costumes: Ohgami Ichirou, Kim Jae Hoon, Jann Lee, and Ryosuke Takahashi. Overall, it was a fun convention, and since it may be my only time out to Baltimore this year, Katsucon 8 was memorable.
