I have compiled a list of articles that I have found that pertain to the Super Coupes and Kit Cars. Many of these articles come from the various Mopar magazines we all read. Some of them are from older issues of popular magazines. Some of them are from magazines no longer in publication. This is here as a resource for you if you would like to try to obtain back issues of these articles/magazines for your specific make and model.
I've broken down the list first by specific model. Towards the bottom is a list of articles that feature or discuss more than one of the models in the same article.
If you know of any other articles or publications that are NOT on this list, or can clarify information that is missing or incorrect below, please contact me so that it may be added to, or corrected on, this list. I will continue to clarify and update this list as quickly and correctly as I can.
NEW - 11-22-01 Ads, scanned by Mark and Bobbi:
Dodge Aspen Super Coupe:
- Dodge Super Coupe advertisement, full page color ad, from Popular Hot Rodding, May 1978, page 45.
- High Performance Mopar, November, 1999,"Just Super", pgs 64-66 and cover shot. This article is about the same owner and car as the next article in this list(MoPerformance). Good pictures of a HIGHLY customized Super Coupe; hood scoop, flip-top gas cap, wheels, power antenna, exhaust, guages ALL OVER the dash, headlight covers, etc etc etc. I count at least 12 plus all the under-hood stuff. This car passed thru eBay in the fall of '01 but did not meet the reserve.
- MoPERFORMANCE magazine, year and month unknown, "An Artifact of the Old Chrysler Corporation", pgs 36 and 37
- Mopar Muscle, July '92, "Factory Modified Muscle", pgs 60 and 61
- CARS, The Hi-Performance Monthly, May '78, "Super Coupe", good article about the new Super Coupe from Dodge, decent pictures, pgs 36-38

Plymouth Volare Super Coupe:
- Performance for the Chrysler Car Enthusiast magazine, June '93, "Street Fleet", pgs 22 and 23, car owned by John Sandfort. Note that some of the facts in this article are not completely correct at this time - ie - it states that they were only available with black interiors which we know to be untrue.
Dodge Aspen Kit Car:
- Motor Trend, Nov. '77, ""Chrysler's Custom Coupe" - may contain more than one specific vehicle
Plymouth Volare Kit Car:
- Car Craft, August '78, "Boulevard Bluff", pgs 28, 29, 31 and 32
- High Performance Mopar, Sept. '90, "Roundy-Round Replica", pgs ???

Multi-make articles:
- Dodge and Plymouth Super Coupe TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) covering black bumper paint.
- MoPERFORMANCE magazine, Nov/Dec '85, "The Forgotten F-Bodies", cover photo, pgs 36-39, pictures and text about the Kit Cars
- High Performance Mopar, Oct. '96, "The Throwbacks", "The '78 Volares Super Coupe and Kit Car were musclecars in an opera-window era", pgs 48-50, 4 good color photos and 5 black & white shots of a Plymouth Super Coupe and Kit Car both owned by Tom Lohmann.

- Chrysler publication, "Chrysler Kit Car", pamphlet about the Kit Cars
Until recently, I had not included any dealer pamphlets on this list. Sales brochures, data and trim books, pocket salesman guides, preliminary prices guides and other publications will also provide many details about these cars. There were also a VERY few magazine advertisements placed in magazines at the time; a list of these will be added as I find them. There are two of the above items listed below:
This is from the "1978 Dodge Car Preliminary Prices" pocket-size pamphlet.
Kit Car ad from Popular Hot Rodding, February 1978, page 21.
