In 1978, Chrysler Corporation marketed the Dodge Aspen and Plymouth Volare Super Coupe using off-the-shelf components from the police car pusuit package. Wild graphics were also used in an attempt to bring the average car buyer into the showroom to buy ordinary cars.

Another source states that the Super Coupe package required four other madatory options. These included the power steering(S77), Power Disc brakes(B41), TorqueFlite transmission(D34) and the E58 police version of the 360-4V engine.
