| Bigfoot, which was the first Monster truck, was born over twenty five years ago. They have been growing in popularity ever since. Monster trucks started out with trucks like Bigfoot 1 (left). They were basiclly stock except the motor and some of the power train. They basically, in the beginning, just crushed some cars and sometimes did some mud racing. | In the early to mid eighty's they began racing. They began beefing up the trucks because the racing was alot harder on the trucks. Some of the things that they did were putting planataries on axles so they won't break and made the frames stronger. Other than the enhancements, things basically stayed the same on the trucks until the end of the steal body age. (the early 90's) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| In 1990, monster truck design was forever changed. Bigfoot 8 was the first Monster Truck with a tubular frame. It was designed by bigfoot owner Bob Chandler using a CAD (Computer Aided Design) program. It was alot lighter than the old trucks. Other innovations included the patented Canaliever suspension and nitrogen shocks. Although the design of the trucks have changed some since then, alot of the innovations of Bigfoot 8 are still the mainstay in monster truck design today. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The Future?????. It will be exciting to see how this sport grows. The sport is getting more TV coverage, and getting more and more respect from race fans. It is a sport that is trully all American. Whatever happens, I know that it will only get better and faster, and that Bigfoot will always be KING OF THE MONSTER TRUCKS. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
