Crap-Fu! Look Who's Done An Update! December 1st 2004

Yeah, so it's been awhile. It's not that I haven't had things going on, it's just that I've been really busy and terribly lazy doing those things.... or avoiding them. Even with all that has been going on I would still react the same way and tell you the nothing was really going on. But I'd be lying. I'll try to recap what's been going on and get you all up to speed. Let's rewind all the way back to July...... July... I went to the San Diego Comic-Con with my buddies Pat, Mario, and Adrian. It was awesome and I was able to meet some very cool people and see some very cool things. There was alot to see... - Keanu Reeves, promoting Constantine (Feb 2005) - Sarah Michelle Gellar, promoting The Grudge (Oct 2004) - The cast of the new Fantastic Four film, including Jessica Alba. - Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez, and the cast of Sin City. - David Goyer, Jessica Biel, & Ryan Reynolds, promoting Blade:Trinity (Dec 2004) - David Goyer, promoting Batman Begins (Summer 2005) - Richard Kelly and the cast of Donnie Darko, promoting the new Director's Cut - An advanced screening of Lady Death. - Kane Hodder (Jason from Friday the 13th 7-23) - John Cho and Kal Penn from Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. - Rob Zombie and the cast of The Devil's Rejects (2005). - 'Shi' artist Billy Tucci - My new art idol Skottie Young. August...

So August wasn't a huge month, but Slipknot did come to town. It was pretty crazy too. They played with Slayer & Hatebreed, a hardcore show to say the very least. It was fun and I was able to get some pretty nifty little goodies out of it.....

September...

Me and about all of my freinds grew a year closer to death. I turned 24 and it's funny how you know you aren't very old, but feel as though you are.

With professional female boxer Mia St. John. She was nice and I kept my distance to prevent getting my ass from getting pointlessly whupped. But boy was she hot.

October...

Concerts slowly started to pick up again. This month it was Jimmy Eat World and the Deftones. Jimmy Eat World came to town and played outside at Club Congress, it was a pretty cool show and they were the nicest guys to thier fans. During the Meet and Greet they took individual photos with each fan and signed everything. Definately a model which all bands should follow. They really are as nice as you would imagine which gives me hope more bands are like this.

Deftones were obviously incredible. Mario got me a ticket for my birthday and I was super stoked. Mario, Adrian, and I all rocked up to Mesa to see the show and it was badass. The show was opened by Dredg, another favorite of mine, so nothing could really go wrong as far as I was concerned. I actually ended up writing a review for the show and it was posted on the Streetwise website. You can check out the review here it features pictures that I took during the show and is chalked full of fun.

November...

Another show came to town this month. Put on by a horrible production company, most of the drama of this thing going on was kept out of the people's sights. The performances seemed to go over well though. I am speaking of the Velocity Tour. It was a 3 day event. Day Two was KFMA's day with bands like My Chemical Romance, Vendetta Red, Yellowcard, Chevelle, and Korn all playing through the night. Despite the crap, there were some pretty sweet things that did go down. As I was setting things up for te station earlier in the day Sam from Chevelle was zipping around on his bike and we breifly said 'Hi' to each other. Later on we did a Meet & Greet with Chevelle and they all hung out with us backstage and signed stuff and ate with us. Sam hung around the most with the staff and was just a really good guy.

Later on, KoRn put on a great performance. They played stuff I hadn't seen the last time I was at thier live show. "Another Brick In The Wall (1,2,&3)", "For You", and "Word Up" were some of the new songs they played. A great show. Here's the proof.
