Empress here is a figure that it took me a long time to get around to finishing. I started her, then got stumped on what to do with her hair, so basically abandoned her for a long time. Empress is another of the Young Justice femmes, basically bought in to replace Arrowette when she left. When I did finally get around to finishing her, I wasn't particularly impressed, so I revisited her, and now I'm happy with the results.
As with most of my female figures in this scale, I started off with Batgirl from the Batman and Robin movie line, with the ears and gloves sanded down. I built up the vest top with a combination of wire and miliput...originally not very well, but I've since chipped it away and sorted out the neck area. I'd also before been lazy, and just painted Batgirl's boots. I decided to go a bit more on model and sand them down, sculpting new, shorter boots. I originally did the hair cascading out the back with wool, but more recently, a little more confident of my sculpting skills, redid that as well. The thing hanging from her belt is blister plastic cut to shape. I'm really happy with how she turned out, she's another character that has lapsed into limbo which is a great shame! |
