I 'discoverred' the Top Cow Universe through Moore Action Collectibles. Being a Buffy fan, I naturally picked up their first wave of figures. Liking them, I decided to look into what other stuff they'd done, and discoverred Witchblade! Since MAC didn't really carry on their Top Cow ranges beyond two waves of Witchblade and then a Darkness wave, I resolved to try and fill out the universe a little. A key player these days is Lara Croft, originally from the Tomb Raider computer games, but became incorporated into the Top Cow mythos, often teaming up with Witchblade!
So it seemed only fitting that I make my Lara from a Witchblade figure, but I was not really prepaired for the daunting task of sanding down all that stuff! I didn't even try with the gauntlet, replacing the arm instead with a Jean Grey figure. The rest is all sculpted...going through the period as an annoying adolescent male, I see now I made those breasts far too huge, the ass is almost as bad, but never mind! I replaced the almost hooflike feet with some shoes froma McDonalds Action Man toy, and found a head from Medieval Witchblade, as the long hair really suited Lara. Overall I could be happier, but she's not at all bad! |
