| Harm and Mac theory, season 7 by myself |
( February 2002) What if Harm and Mac ARE already a couple on the show but we don't know it (yet)? I have this in my head for about a week now. Ok, let me explain. When this season first started I had some thoughts on how TPTB could put Harm and Mac into a romantically relationship. I even wrote my thoughts on how to do that somewhere on this forum, if I recall it correctly. I said then that it would be fun if H&M were secretly involved with eachother and that it could play out in tow ways ( on the screen); 1) They are a couple, they date without anyone in the office ( JAG HQ and everyone in and about) to know about it but we, the viewers, would know and be able to see some shipperscenes ( in one of their apartments, a date in a restaurant…anything) 2) They would be a couple, date, spent quality time together without ANYONE knowing about it. Not even the viewers. Keep it REALLY secret! What if this second option is already playing right in front of our own eyes? When you think about it ( and please humor me) it could aswell already be! They are very comfortable around eachother lately, ever since 'Answered Prayers'. They kissed then under the mistletoe without anyone pushing them, it was a natural thing to do so apparently. Since then it got better and better between them. We even found out that Harm would spend his Christmas with Mac. Anyway, Mac revealed she is in love with Harm and although the time to say it was pretty awkward, Mac didn't seem too stunned to me. Shocked that she revealed it to Sturgis, yes, to herself, not really. And ever since we've had little comments that could aswell be hints. You just have to look differently to it. "I know what the Admiral needs" "Right…. You have done so right for yourself!" This is some nice banter and with such a double meaning into it. She might have said it sarcastically ( I haven't heard it ( or seen it for that matter)!) but IF they are together already she might mean this for real and the sarcasm comes in like "Yeah, now you can say it but look how long it took you to get your head out of your six!" Then we have that weather deck scene in 'The Mission' where she told him she knows 'now' how it feels up there, on a carrier, in the ocean, away from everything. She thinks alike now. Wow! When she mentions nothing stays the same Harm couldn't agree more with her. Because for both of them ALOT has changed, especially if this means they are a couple now. And he could tell her honestly and sincere that he was glad she was there, with him and maybe meaning he needs her and now knows she is always there with him. No words were necessary at that point, Mac knew, Harm knew… Mac smiled back at him in understanding ( though, maybe felt a tad weird about it, about all they were going through). Then we have 'Head to Toe' where I even had a feeling they acted like a married couple ( when I saw the clip that is what went through me when I saw how they were interacting). Mac showed her frustration, Harm let her be for the time being, listening to her and comment when necessary. Like a husband would. There was some understanding between, silent but definitely present none the less. Again, back to last weeks ep 'Exculpatory Evidence'. Apparently Mac didn't look too worried about that Renee look-a-like, or so I read. That woman, Caroline, might have flirted with Harm but Harm only stayed friendly towards her and didn't really act on it. And I read that even IF Harm wanted to dispose that businesscard there would have been no gentle way to do so. Mac only got back at Harm when he said he wasn't to blame. "No…there will be time for that later", shotting Sturgis a meaningful look ( he is the one knowing Mac loves Harm) but saying this to Harm. Later? When? And where? It would make no sense ( not much anyway) UNLESS they are a couple. Then she indeed can 'blame' him later, in person, in private. Ok, I know, maybe a little bit too far fetched but just think about it. It are subtle comments which could easily mean hints and they wouldn't give us, nor the co-workers, any clue what is going on!!! If this is the case, then it also would be fairly logical that we didn't catch them doing anything yet cause that will be just for them in private. Any place what concerns work is off-limits and so far, we didn't catch them in private yet. A base in the Middle East, a weather deck aboard a carrier, a bar aren't what you call complete 'private' places, now would it? Anything they would do, someone could see and if they want it to keep it a complete secret, those places are also off-limits. Too big a risk to be 'caught in action', if you know what I mean. Anyway, now comes my comment. I think this scenario is pretty plausible BUT I doubt DB would really do something like this. I am always the sucker for the secrecy part and if it would concern me I would definitely put them together in secret without the office knowing one single thing BUT I would NOT keep it from the viewers though the options are much bigger. You can throw away hints, comments which could be taken in different ways and you have to give it credit that is would sure be surprising in the end, not forgetting to mention that you can drag this out an awfully long time, even till the end of the show if you'd like!!! Again, I don't think this is what is happening on the show ( I even don't think DB would come up with such a scenario though I won't be held responsible IF it were true!!!!) but the thought occured to me and seemed really possible though I would hate to be hanging around like this. It would be so unfair to us ;o)! But I have to say that is definitely has great suspence! And can you imagine when it comes out that it was what is going on? We would ALL be dumbfounded!!!! LOL But I wanted to share my thoughts and I'd like to know if I am really grasping behind the net or could have a point here. Ok, up to you, what do you guys think??? ( March 2002) Harm and Mac: A Couple? I think so, yes. And this is why. First I'd like to say I already wrote some thoughts about this about a month ago (approximately) but now I even feel more stronger about it, that I might be right after all. But OK, let me point out why I think Harm and Mac are together already: * They are really, I mean REALLY comfy around each other lately, they attend parties together and stick together like glue constantly, * We have almost no shipperscenes and those that come close are only looks and smiles, * Yet, those looks and smiles have a hidden meaning. I think that there are double meanings behind them… * Mac doesn't get jealous when other females are lingering around Harm, though she does react on it yet in a subtle, almost unclear kind of way ( to our eyes and ears) to Harm himself, * Mac says lines that make no sense ( not to me anyway….) UNLESS they are a couple already and it involves hidden messages which apparently Harm understands e.g. "Don't blame me" - "Oh, there will be time for that later" and " You have done so well for yourself". BTW, did you guys see the smiles they threw at each other after that line? Lethally cute… * Every couple has their private and quality time together during the episodes, all but Harm and Mac while those two are the obvious ones needing to have time together by the way they act around eachother.. There has to have happened more in their personal lives to act the way they do now, so comfortable, with an agreement we have NOT seen and yet, we don't get even ONE scene of them in a normal environment, at one of their apartments or whereever yet AJ can have a picnic, Sturgis kisses Bobbi at the parking lot, goes babysitting with her and Harm and Mac??? Nothing…… Just too weird…. * Harm and Mac finish each other's lines and thoughts lately e.g. "Pit Bull", "We don't do that anymore, sir" & "We're confused", * Harm lets Mac take the lead during cases/investigations and has an approving/admiring look on his face, * They are 'together' at Bud's farewell party dressed to date if you ask me, BOTH of them ( BTW, I loved both their outfits…. ) and Harm even shots Mac a .1 second glance when the Admiral approached ( it is hardly recognisable but it is there…). It could be even be called 'cozy' the way they are there, only some inches apart… * It is SO calm around H&M that it is almost TOO obvious that they are together and that they're doing their darnest to keep it a secret which they are pretty good at except the fact that they are TOO comfortable around each other. Everything goes too easy. * It is also a very convenient way for TPTB to do it this way cause they can show that the show can go on and that it doesn't matter if Harm and Mac are together or not. It would be a good way to show off that they have the hand in it and whatever we hope, they can jumble up…. ( A low blow, I agree…) * DJE said in an interview that it would be 'sexier not to know', just like Catherine said that 'if she would tell, she'd have to kill' I bet that by the end of the season we are in for a huge surprise. That something will show that we missed something along the way ( Ok, not if I am right of course…LOL..cause then I saw it… LOLOLOL ;oD). Maybe we see 2 breakfast settings over at Mac's apartment or maybe when Harm gets a phonecall he all of a sudden has 3 arms, and a pair of extra feet… LOL…. OR, when they are in battle in Afghanistan ( Catherine has said in an interview that they would go to Afghanistan and would be dressed up in Combat gear PLUS she also said there would be some interesting things coming up in the Harm&Mac department), Harm, out of the blue, gives Mac a peck on the lips like a bye-honey-I'll-be-back-later-kiss when they need to seperate for the mission they are at and momentarily forgetting that they ARE still in the mission and have people around them, people looking at them dumbfounded when they see it and Mac starting to blush at the 'mistake'. Ok, forgive me for my 'imaginative' thoughts. LOL. It's just that the lack of shipperscenes makes up for thoughts why we don't get to see more on the Harm 'n Mac dance. In my post a month ago I said that I hoped I was wrong, and I still do. I'd like to see the 'dance' but so far nothing proved me otherwise. It only became more plausible cause there is something not right. It is TOO quiet around them while we know Mac is in love with Harm, she said so and IF she was still waiting for him to see things straight, she would be more persuasive, more flirtingly, more outforward ( think about yourself when you were in love and didn't have the guy/girl yet). But she isn't, she is relaxed, and so is Harm. And let's not forget the facts that Harm invated Mac's personal space a couple of times recently ( in my opinion… it sure looks like it to me…). E.g. In 'Hero Worship', on the carrier, when he asked Mac to hear him out… he gets really close to her, hanging over her; When he asked Mac to 'suck up' to him in 'Odd Man Out', he again turned her side and she too got a little closer; during Bud's Farewell party in 'First Casualty' they were standing cozily together, yet not touching… If you really think about, it IS possible… Anyway, if this turns out to be true I am gonna prance around!!!! LOL…. If not, then I guess I need a shrink ( don't I already… LOL… Well, as long as my new neighbour turns out to be Micheal Coulter) cause I might be TOO obsessed with JAG… heheheheehehe ;o) Ok, This is already too long. Sorry… but I just needed to get it off my chest… Call me 'nuts' now… But still, I think it could be really plausible. There is just something NOT right… There is a conspiracy going on I tell ya…. LOL…. (April 2002, after the spoiler of Kip where he said; "I'd say they're good friends, working partners (sometimes advisaries) and spending more time together without actually calling it dating." They asked me about my theory again and I had to defend. LOL ) Well, I was just about to come and explain my theory AGAIN!!! LOL. I think it still stands. It Def. stands!!!! Ok..some facts: * Since when are they back to 'sharing dinner' again? All we saw the last season was them NOT getting too personal, never do something together except cases, yet, they got more and more comfortable. And now Mac suggests all of a sudden that they order in and he makes it quickly into 'I'll cook'..and she excepts... while she always teases him about NOT liking his home cooking ( Shakedown: Mac only agrees to a 'buying'dinner ) but now she graps the opportunity with both hands. * They carpool. Mac took out her uniform afraid to get it smooched. Hello!!!! How would that happen? She already ate a Beltway Burger on a bench in the JAG garden..nothing happened...why would she think she would make a mess now??? Unless it happened before ( Ok..reaching...but hey, humor me)...and well, she didn;t make a mess did she??? Not for as far we could see. The scene stopped ( and ok, I haven't seen it either..belgium, remember) right before they were about to kiss..or so it seemed... I just saw the screen caps and they scream 'KISS' to me... There they are, playing some childish joke ( flipping coins..come on...and then dropping it???? Harm had no trouble flipping a coin in Psychic Warrior...most likely he dropped it on purpose), looking like some teenagers on a making out session. And they look AWEfully close and comfortable to me... And then Harm, asking 'Are you ok?"... she just bumbed her head..how hard does he think his scull is??? Concrete? Ok, lingering off here..LOL... Anyway, they sit there on the ground, under the table... and are REALLY very cozy!!! And then the scene ends??? What? Mac still needs to get up, so does Harm but they are about to kiss first... Look at the pic... they're 'this' close... ( showing it but i am afraid you can't see it...anyway ;oD). The only reasonable way of ending this scene is 'closing the distance between them'... Remember, she is IN love with this man, and about to crawl unto his lap.. what would you do???? Anyway, Back to Harm for a little bit. He cooks for her? Dresses up? Places candles and roses on the table??? Puts music on???? Uhm... are you sure this is only for the case? I read somewhere that he said they could do it when there? So, this is 'pleasure' then? Of course it is!!!! He is IMPRESSING her... like a boyfriend would... Ok, back to the clothing. Mac brings her uniform to his place so she plans on getting in it in Harm's apartment. An Apartment with NO doors!!! So, she was in her uniform, went into civvies and back into the uniform just so she wouldn't mess her uniform? And so did Harm... Thus, to make it final. LOL. If they were not together yet and just be there as friends, why act so childish with the coin and sit under a table like a couple of teenagers??? I have only one answer to that. They have set the step and be 'in love' with each other... and well, from experience ( yes, I DO have experience in at least THAT department...lol) I can tell when being together with someone, you act foolish, child like... and they are just this... So, when you look at the final pic again ( or last part of the scene) they are there, left alone and anyone can wonder what happened... I bet they made out like teenagers aswell and just 'closed the distance'... It sure looks like they were planning to and well, we don't saw it so it could aswell have occured... Plus, Mac said in a very double meaning when Harm mentioned 'Ill be gentle'... "Don't be genlte, be good"... She knows more... and so does he.... Of course, I can't defend it completely cause i have not seen the scene yet but I am still betting they are into it already... and enjoying every minute of... Besides, if you look at them at the table, when they are serving themselfs salad, they look like a 'married' couple... too too comfortable.... Ok, I cut out here.. people are already waiting what I wrote... And I am always into a challenge...lol Oh, one last thing. Someone mentioned 'The Matchmaker' in what is said that 'bumb heads' is a sign that it is true love... Ok, over and out... ;o) *********** Love, Choebe/CB |
