Okay, so I can't really call it Webmastery. I don't know *that* much about HTML. As a matter of fact, for most of my elements, I just use a simple drag and drop interface. Of course, it took a while to learn the program. But jeeze, it's so much easier than working with HTML. I mean, most of the websites I've created are pretty good looking. I try to make them look professional. Of course, I'm learning new stuff all the time. But I think I've done pretty well for myself.
When I first met Daniel, I was nearly computer illiterate. I mean, I knew a few programs and stuff, but I wasn't very savvy about anything. I didn't even know how to access the internet correctly. It was sad.
Well, Daniel taught me how to do some basic things on the computer, and I rented a few learn-at-home computer program courses from the library. I also got some more training from a temporary agency. It all kind of happened gradually. I went from being clueless to helping other people with their problems and questions.
Eventually, I wanted my own website. I braved the elements of HTML, searching for 'an easier way'. There was hardly anything at that time. Finally, I found the Geocities Page Builder. I created a Yahoo email and I began to learn Geocities Page Builder. It was easier than I had feared, and I soon had a fully featured website.
One thing forced me to really learn Page Builder. Daniel and I started Chiming Wands, and we needed a really nice, professional-looking website. I created one, and learned a few tricks along the way. Soon, I had friends asking me to help them build their websites. I even made Melissa her website and gave it to her as a gift. She liked it so well that she asked me to teach her Page Builder, so I did. I gave her the basics, but like me she has learned a lot on her own. I'm happy to say that she now maintains her website herself. (Way to go, babe!)
