Weeks leading up to the Bash, Kash found some success in tag team action, partnering with Jamie Noble. Together the two former Cruiserweight Champions adapted their rough, vicious styles to become a formidable tag team known as the Pitbulls. Kid Kash knows that he’s money, and he plans on letting the rest of the SmackDown Superstars in on the secret. A trash-talking southern-bred braggart, Kash says that he’s the greatest cruiserweight in the world, and is not afraid to back up his words in the ring. Kash is always controversial with his comments and will seize the opportunity to climb the ladder on SmackDown by any means necessary. Trained by Rock ‘N’ Roll Express member Ricky Morton, whom he teamed with extensively in his early years, the “K.I.D.” has journeyed worldwide, competing in rings as far away as Japan, Puerto Rico and Europe. In the United States, Kash was first propelled into the spotlight in ECW, where his days of taking it to the extreme earned him the ECW Television Championship. Entering WWE in October 2005, Kash quickly made a name for himself, amassing an impressive winning streak on Velocity. His domination got him noticed, and at Armageddon 2005, his hard work paid off when he defeated Juventud to become Cruiserweight Champion. Even with the gold around his waist, Kash didn’t stop striving for more. During an interview with Funaki in December 2005, Kash claimed that he’s the greatest Cruiserweight Champion, and laid out SmackDown’s No. 1 Announcer with the Dead Level to back up his words. At the 2006 Royal Rumble, Kash took on five former Cruiserweight Champions in a Cruiserweight Invitational. Surprise entrant Gregory Helms won the match to claim Kash’s Cruiserweight Championship, but Kash maintains the victory was a fluke because Helms didn’t pin him to win the gold. Kash worked towards regaining the Cruiserweight Championship he once held. At No Way Out, he participated in a Nine-Man Sudden Death Match for the gold, but was unable to defeat reigning champion Gregory Helms. Kash got his revenge weeks later on SmackDown, joining forces with several other cruiserweights to keep Helms from walking out of a match with Chris Benoit. Even without the gold around his waist, Kash continues to impress on SmackDown. And while he may seem more arrogant then ever, his pedigree certainly speaks for itself. |
