‘Buzzin Hornets’, one of the richest companies in the world, has just announced their venue to the F2/SNRL circuit. They will put their money on two unknown rookie drivers named Jim Schweigert (AKA Schwag) from Oregon, USA, and Steven Davis (AKA Mononcle Jacques) from Quebec, Canada. They could not get the Kevin Firlein and company because all the top Division one drivers were already under contracts. So in order to get more coverage, they decided to take a chance in Division two, where anyone can be at the front on any given race. But the stakes are high for those two; if their performance is not up to expectation, it is obvious that the rumors will start again soon! Buzzin Hornets is so rich that they bought two of each brand of all of the seven F2 cars currently available. Can you imagine that? I know I can’t! But the philosophy of the company is that if a bee goes from flower to flower, a Buzzin Hornets’ driver should be able to go from car to car. Being rich as they are, the Buzzin Hornets’ team was really upset to learn that the Brabham was banned from the circuit because they had already purchased the two cars. To compensate for this, Buzzin Hornets suggested that they be allowed to put sponsorship on their cars. Well, I guess you know how that went. Come on, folks! Advertising on cars! No way. What will they think of next? After putting the picture of a hornet on the car, will they be putting wings on it too? Ridiculous! After long negotiations, it was agreed that they would be allowed to display their sponsors, but only on the two Brabhams, as show cars before qualification and races. So don’t expect to see those cars during qualifying and races. This, I’m afraid ladies and gentleman, is only the beginning of advertising on F1 and F2 cars. Yes, Buzzin Hornets is the first company to ever have put advertisements on a Formula car. At least the races should provide a lot of excitement. We’ll see if Schweigert and Davis can live up to expectations. I really hope they do and we can only wish them the best of luck. Their hearts are big. Let’s see what their talent can provide this season. Here are the two Brabhams in full livery: |
