Clear As Glass: a review
After listening to the songs, they made a
Selena song pop in my head-Dreaming of You. So that pretty much gives you an idea of what the group sounds like.

The first song I
heard by Clear As Glass(CAG) was "Saturday Morning". When I heard that song
images came into my head. That is a good thing because to truely enjoy a song, you
must not only hear it but see it. That way you know what you are listening to.
The way this song was sung was interesting. The feel and rhythem of the song were kinda different than
the message I got out of the song. The message I got was that there is a person and she is telling
herself "Hey its Saturday! A whole day to do things. The sun is shining so what should I do first?" This
song also reminded me of Woodstock. I saw the documentary and this type of music reminds me of what I saw.

The second song I heard was
entitled "Burn Away The Shadows". This one is really good. The tone and feel of the
song were so i could really get into it and know what it was about. This song was about
a girl telling a significant other that when they are together nothing can touch them-harm
them-nothing else matters. When they are together nothing can go wrong and everything turns
out fine. She tells him their personalities click together and should not be taken away from
the other. She is very strong with her words, passionate and to the point with what she wants
to say. She loves him with all her heart and tells him that nothing will change that.
This is a very passionate song and could mean a lot to people. The sound of it was like one of a Michelle Branch song-mellow, calm, and to the point. I personally am a fan of hers.
This next song I heard
has a great meaning. It is called "When Dreams Are Gone". I think this is a great title. The
song shows how the person thinks of life and everything she sees, touches, hears, tastes and
smells. She seems to be a deep thinker and its poetic the way the song is writen-the words chosen.
She is saying in the song that if dreams go away, so will the stars. And if the stars go away she will too. She cannot
live without dreamsand the stars. They make her who she is. The beginning of this song is awesome. The music is
played well and fits the message of the song.
The last song I heard of CAG's-but certainly not least of the songs they have-was "Sweet Days". When I read the title, I thought it would be about experiences of sweet days, but it isn't at all. The song had a sense of longing and understanding in the words chosen. The girl wanted to know why something happend. She wanted to know and she was grieving in not knowing. The girl seemed as if she lost something. I felt a sense of searching within the tone and melody of the music. Because she has lost something and cannot understand, she has seemed to give up and not care anymore. If she does care, she doesn't want anyone to know.
This song was well written and many people can relate to the message on different levels.
