Attitude

The primary function of a slave upon Gor, is to serve the needs of the free. There are as many different modes of service as there are Masters and Mistresses, and each free citizen has his or her own preferred manner whereby service requirements are fulfilled. This document will not attempt to list them all, but will rather simply offer some guidelines which should help the willing slave integrate his or herself into Gorean society.

First of all, a slave should be respectful and dutiful in the presence of any free individual. This is due to the fact that, upon Gor, free citizens literally hold the power of life and death over any slave. Upon Gor, all slaves are considered to be responsible for serving all free citizens. While some Masters and Mistresses will collar a slave and reserve him or her for their private use, this does not mean that the slave in question is no longer required to be pleasing to all free citizens at all times. There have always been slaves who came to Gor but refused to bow to this rule, and the graveyards of Gor are littered with their bodies. There is no place on Gor for bratty or selfish slaves, and if you cannot deal with this, then go elsewhere and save yourself some hard knocks.

In the presence of a free Gorean, a Gorean slave kneels at all times, unless serving or commanded otherwise. A Gorean slave addresses all free men as "Master" and all freewomen as "Mistress" regardless of whether or not they are owned by that person. A Gorean slave is humble at all times and respects the servility of his or her station. A Gorean slave does not bargain, debate or argue. A Gorean slave does not expect to be rewarded, and takes pleasure from being pleasing and providing service. A Gorean slave cannot have "honor," but is expected to have integrity, loyalty and to serve all to the best of his or her ability. A Gorean slave accepts punishment and discipline without complaint. A Gorean slave is always looking for something to do or someone to serve. When a slave fails to understand a command given to him or her, he/she politely asks for it to be clarified. A Gorean slave is forbidden by law to touch money, a whip, or any form of weaponry with his or her hands, unless expressly instructed to.

Where is this belly so many speak of? what does it do?

It is well known the slave has needs... strong needs unleashed by Men who made her aware of them in order to better control her... a slave who understands she is slave knows full well that her slavery is in large part due to basic and primal instincts and her helpless need to fulfill them. The Gorean Man uses this need to keep the slave at His mercy... until such a time as the slave herself sees it and surrenders to it completely.

Being slave and finding in this revelation a joy can only be achieved by the shedding of all inhibitions and shames... the slave will try... of course, to fool herself into believing there is in the way men look at her... a place for her to control them ~shaking her head gently~ you may fool yourself a time... but too, you must know this... if indeed you are able to control a Man and feel satisfaction doing it... then you have not the belly of a slave girl... then you have not either... found a Gorean Master.

Being slave means you will never have the luxury of a place to hide from the fact that you are indeed a beast... that you have needs so strong to be made to yield to strongest and to the harshest of men... that you cannot fight these needs... that you eventually stop wanting to for the extasy you are granted when He allows you at last to feel His touch.

The belly of a slave is unforgiving... she will hate it for the shameless way it drives her to beg for even the slightest of touches... she will fight it to hold on desperately to the shreds of her modesty... a modesty slaves are not permitted... but in the end... she will understand devastatingly that she is only free when this fire is unleashed and used... to drive her deeper into chains the naked eye will never see unless it is the eye of the Gorean Man.

It is then that she will find pride in the steel she wears... and that she will laugh at those who scorn her... it is then that she will kiss the whip for the lessons it teaches... it is then that she helplessly... yet joyfully... writhe and squirm at the feel of even a stranger's touch.

True too she will love her Master more than any other... do not confuse her heart with the heat of her needs...

she has been taught her slavery and cannot help but shudder beneath a Man's touch... this has no bearing on her devotion to the true Master of the slave... He will understand and find pride in her responsiveness... whether He chooses to share her and allow Others use of His property or not... He understands she cannot help herself... He has made her that way...

It means too, that she has been given no choices in her surrender... as it should be... as is... the nature of the slave she is.

Attitude ...
A slave's purpose is to serve, to be pleasing, and to obey. The sooner a girl understands these things, the sooner she will find joy in them. Unfortunately, there are many who think these are things a girl "chooses" to do, putting themselves in an illusion of power that is nowhere near the principles of Gorean minds. There is, on Gor, no "chosen" submission, no "gift" of submission.

The Gorean slave will, whether she chooses to or not, be made to yield to Master's will. The fact that this brings her joy never means she does it by choice. The only 'choice' a kajira has is to accept her fate or to complicate it by fighting it. She must never forget that her status is nil, that her rights are nil, and that she is in effect, by law and by nature, an article of property.

There is, in the realms of online Gor, a moment when a girl in fact "chooses". On line, contrary to the Gor written by Norman, a girl's presence is the result of a choice. If you have "chosen" to enter this realm as a slave, you have chosen a room rather than another... you have watched a time and now decided on where you will settle, keep in mind it is the last choice you make. Of course a girl can close the browser and never return at anytime... of course a girl can re enter under different names and in different rooms... of course a girl can "pretend" over and over that she is new and "play" the game as a hundred different people. Those are the flaws of the medium...

Understand though and have the integrity to look in the mirror and admit that you then are no slave... but one who dabbles and plays in a world where others strive to be true. Never for a moment think that you will fool everyone all of the time. Time and time again, girls enter Gor with the ridicule idea that they will do as they please... succeeding for a time in taking a few for a ride. One has to wonder what the satisfaction is to be had by lying on something as essential as who you are... deep inside.

To be kajira...

means to know you are subject to whims, moods, rules that change.

It means that although you may be given an explanation or a reason... you deserve none.

It means that although you may not know why you are being punished, you know it is right by the simple fact He/She chooses to do it.

It means that you understand you have not even the right to speak or move unless One grants it, and that One may choose not to simply because it is what pleases Him/Her.

It means... that even when you have been told one thing is law... you may be punished for doing it because Another prefers a different way.

It means that though you may be asked for your opinion, you understand it may or may not be taken into account, whether this pertains to your sale, your task assignment, your name or even your life.

It means that each time... no matter how deeply you feel you had done no wrong... you will be grateful for the lesson and accept its consequences.

It means the you will NEVER utter the words "but a girl was told..." to try to justify or explain your actions.. Because you understand that the FREE are never wrong unless They say so Themselves.

It means that when Two give you commands that are opposite on ways to do things, you will bite your tongue and let Them discuss and argue until They have decided between Themselves what is the way it will be.

It means that if They do not agree, you will remember each's preference and eagerly comply.

It means that you be grateful for any praise received but will expect none.

It means that you will never think your whining and complaints are of any importance to anyone and refrain from distributing them around.

It means the words "I am pleased" will become the light in your life and the reason for your every breath.

Above all, it means that all of those things will be more than words recited... than lines learned... that they will become your beliefs and your core.

If a girl can easily "play along", she will never truly be slave unless this lays deep in her belly, unless it is what she knows to be true about who she is and who she isn't.

Intelligence ...
If you are of those who thinks that to be slave requires only the ability to do what one is told, you need look again or move along. The Gorean expects complete obedience from his slave, that is true, he does however, not wish for her to be an empty shell, or a duplicate of another slave. If a girl is expected to obey without question at the moment of a command, it is not to say that she doesn't think or have questions. Obedience and intelligence are not incompatible and must simply be placed within the duality of the kajira's life. On one hand, she must show utmost compliance and never publicly question or argue a command, on the other, she must understand why she does things if she hopes ever to be able to do them with the natural grace that is hers.

A girl who knows... who feels... what it is she does in the smallest tasks and gestures of her service, is likely to be more pleasant to watch than one who mechanically performs tasks she does not understand.

Discipline and Punishment...
There is, on Gor, no reason needed to punish a slave. If it is unusual for a Master to be cruel, there are many reasons a slave will be punished that the non Gorean will not understand at first. Too, be aware that these punishments may seem, at first, unusually harsh to you. The Gorean slave is subject to rules that leave little space for error, and of course, as she has no rights, anything may be done to her, be it to punish, train, or merely to enforce upon her the depth of her bondage. The whip for example, is not always used to punish, in many situations a Master will feel it is time to let His girl feel the kiss of the whip to remind her that she is slave.

In most of the online Gorean community, a slave may be punished only by her Master when in her home. There are to this exception and a girl should inform herself of what they are.

She will understand though that if any Free chooses to punish her, it is not up to her to state the rules, she, as always, will obey.

Be forewarned as well, that the rules of your home have no bearing on what may be done to you outside of this home. If a girl finds herself in anothother place, she will be subject to the whim of any there. In NO SITUATION is it acceptable for a girl to run away from her actions.

Whether or not a girl thinks she has done wrong is irrelevant, whether or not a girl thinks the Free who wants to apply the punishment has that right or not is irrelevant, she is always to defer this judgment to her Master or Mistress, and to accept her fate in the meantime.

A girl and her home...

As stated before, one of the few choices a slave has, is that of which room she enters and settles in. Once a girl has been collared to camp, or to a Master of Camp, this Camp becomes her home.

It is a girl's duty to make this home a place that others will come to. The world of online Gor is vast and diversified, a camp where noone speaks or moves isn't likely to be one that will draw newcomers. The fact that camp is empty should never be a reason for a girl not to go there, or stay there when she can. She needs to remember she is not a visitor, but property of this home... a girl who "chooses" to come to camp only when her master is there, crawls all over Him for attention then swiftly disappears as soon as He does, may as well be in any other chatroom. It is true that a girl's home is with her Master... but if her Master has chosen the Camp as His Homestone, a girl would do well to remember that her actions and behavior reflect on the quality of His choice of girl.

The same applies to slaves, consider... that if you are seen as one who "chooses" who she serves and when, your understanding of slavery will be questioned and that this will make owning you a rather poor attraction. The collar you wear ties you to the well being of your home and Master(s)/Mistress(es), this includes giving all that you have to make your home grow.

Being in alone is an opportunity to catch up with chores, practice dances, bathe and a multitude of other things... if those who are bound to a home do not spend time in it... who will?

"The slave cannot free herself. She can be freed only by an owner. The condition of slavery does not require the collar, or the brand, or an anklet, bracelet or ring, or any such overt sign of bondage. Such things, as symbolic as they are, as profoundly meaningful as they are, and as useful as they are for marking properties, identifying masters, and such, are not necessary to slavery.

They are, in effect, though their affixing can legally effect imbondment, ultimately, in themselves, tokens of bondage, and are not to be confused with the reality itself. The uncollared slave is not then a free woman but only a slave who is not then in a collar.
