At ICC (Indiana Cheer Camp) each year teams with super spirit are honored with a spirit award.  Each year our team gets one almost every night of camp.  Spirit is a HUGE factor in cheerleading and on this page you'll find ideas on how to raise the spirits of your crowds and your teams.

The week before sectionals we have spirit week.  Each day there is a different theme.  it could be twin day, hippi day, school colors day anything you want.  this gets everybodyexcited and pumped for the games. We  decorate the teams lockers the day before the big games.  You can put balloons and candy in their lockers too.  Also we cover the halls with signs like , "crush the raiders, &stomp the panthers" this is a lot of fun and it raises the guys spirits majorly. Our cheerleading team has sleepovers/campouts/get togethers all through the season. It draws the team closer together, and gets us phsyched for competition and stuff.  A couple days before all the kids come back to school the cheerleaders go in and decorate.  we use welcome back signs and good luck.  It sparks alot of school spirit in the students and is a lot of fun. We had a "tape 'em up" contest. The two history teachers let us tape them up to a wall.the person who stayed up after you pull the chair out from under them wins. You had to pay like a doller to get in.  It was soooooo fun!  plus it was a great way to get back at your teacher for giving you that weekend homework!!!
