Sandvik is a black sand beachbreak located on the southwestern corner of the Reykjanes. It picks up anything coming out to the south/ southwest, and is good up to 6', or 8' if it's really clean. It is tide sensitive, and is best at any kind of mid tide, although I've ridden it at both high and low tides. There area a couple of different sandbars here that change around a lot. Also, there can be big rips here when the tide is really moving or the surf is big. If you want beachbreak, this is gonna be your spot. |
