| Howdy from Melbourne Beach, Florida...just 10 miles up the beach from Sebastian Inlet and arguably the epicenter of American East Coast Surfing. I moved my family and myself here from Lake Jackson, TX, last fall. I am a former Surfside local, having surfed there since the 60's...Here are a few pics from the end of my street and the Inlet this season here in Mel, Bch. One is the shuttle going up. | The picture was taken last fall at Gorda after a light cool front with straight offshores, every wave was a barrel. I took the picture..should have taken more but...it was obviously too good to watch. I drove up the beach until I found a sandbar that was happy, it was near the condos on this day. Nobody out for a couple of hours, then a couple of locals came out to play. We all took turns in the chocolate donut room. -Gene Gore (pic. just below) |
