Boxers have always been a part of our family in one form or another.
Rosemary remembers the first Boxer she was ever involved with in the 1930's.
They were beautiful then, and they are beautiful now.
Susan, having been a competitor on an International level for most of her
life, got bitten by the dog show bug in 1993, and so the development of
SURO
Boxers ensued.
We are a small, in home kennel. The name SURO
is a combined form of Susan and Rosemary. Susan owner/handles all
the homebased SURO Boxers.
We started off with a sweet little fawn bitch which we thought was to be
the basis of our kennel, and show stock. The name 'Makin'
It Happen' was appropriate, however not in
the show ring. It was through our next purchase of a dynamite little
brindle bitch from Syrr
Run
Boxers, that we really began to build
a foundation.
We usually have a litter about once a year, if we see the need to improve
on our current line. Our goal is to breed Boxers that exemplify the
standard, both in confirmation and temperment. Since we are both
Registered Nurses, with backgrounds ranging from Coronary Care to Sports
Medicine, we take intense interest in insuring our Boxers have passed all
of the appropriate health screenings.
We are members of the Georgia
Boxer Club and the Kennesaw
Kennel Club, and have been officers in both
groups. We were accepted as new members to the American
Boxer Club (ABC) at the annual membership meeting held on May 9th 2001. |
