To All: Whereas: Now Know Ye that I the Sir Edmund ANDROS Lt. Governor: Do with the Advice and Consent of the Council of State Accordingly give and grant unto William KING and Michael KING Jr. of Nansemond County Eight hundred and forty Acres of land Situate lying and being in the upper portion of Nansemond beginning at a marked white oak a corner tree of BATTLE’S line and Nathan KING’S Landing Noard BATTLE’S Claimed Ground and run thence across a branch Called Battle’s Branch Northwesterly Fifty five Degrees twenty eight poles to a marked pine, thence Northwesterly Seventy one degrees twenty four poles to William JONES corner pine, thence West Eighty two poles to a marked pine, thence Northwesterly Sixty five degrees one hundred fifty nine poles to a marked pine, thence Northwesterly Twenty five degrees one hundred forty seven poles to a Marked Pine Standing in or Nigh ?ei? Line, thence again from the said Beginning white oak and run along Nathan KING’S marked trees Northeasterly twelve degrees two hundred forty poles to a Marked pine, thence North Eighteen poles to a marked pine , thence Northeasterly Twenty Three degrees on hundred sixty poles to a marked pine in or nigh Drury’s Line, thence bounding on Drury’s Line West two hundred forty eight poles, thence North eighty poles on Drury’s Line West two hundred forty eight poles, thence North eighty poles on Drury’s Line to George’s marked pine, thence along George’s Marked Trees Northwesterly Seventy three degrees Seventy Eight poles to a marked pine in or nigh Loise’s Line, thence bounding on Lewis(?) Land and running Southwesterly Twenty four degrees three hundred and four poles until it concurs with the Northwesterly twenty five degree Course whose distance is one hundred forty seven poles for the said land, the said Eight hundred forty acres of land being due unto the said William KING and Michael KING Jr. by and for the transportation of Seventeen persons into this Colony all whose names are in the Records mentioned Under this Patent to have and to hold to be held or yielding and paying: provided: Dated 20th of April Anno Dom 1694. - E. ANDROS
