My Family

Keep it together with your family...
They remind us of our history...
Brothers and sisters, they hold the key
To your heart and your soul
Don't forget that your family is gold...
-Madonna

I have been fortunate, in my life, to belong to a family who love me as much as I love them. My friend likes to compare us to the "Cunningham's" from Happy Days.. we are hardly that, but no matter if we had our differences, I always knew that my mom, dad, and brother loved me very much and would always be there for me.As a kid I spent a lot of happy hours hanging out with my mom, shopping or just playing Yahtzee, and I can still remember endless drives to the country while singing goofy songs with my dad. They have always encouraged me to follow my dreams, have been proud of my successes, and never tried to make me be something I am not. I consider myself very lucky to be part of my family.
Me and my older brother..There was a time when I thought my brother and I would never get along. Like most brothers and sisters we didn't have much in common, and fought like cats and dogs. It wasn't until I moved away from home, and my brother moved to Alberta that I realized what a great guy he is. Age will do that to you. Now he's married to a woman whom I would have loved to have as a sister as I was growing up, and has 3 gorgeous kids. I'm not biased.. just look!!
See what I mean? In a world where it seems little is safe and secure, I have always known my family will always be there for me, love me, and accept me just as I am. I'm a very lucky gal.
