MMEET MICK
    HAPPINESS IS BEING MARRIED
           TO YOUR BEST FRIEND
Joys we have shared, bridges we've crossed, hard times there have been, but we have made it through and the light in your eyes and the tingle in my heart every time we see one another is truly the most wonderful feeling in the world.
I love you -
Because I know I can depend on you. Because you know when to laugh at me and when to take me seriously. Because you know what to repeat and what to keep to yourself. Because you sense the feelings behind the words. Because you always see something positive in me. Because you are never fake but are always honest with me. Because you are a giver not only of your time but of yourself. Because you know me better than most people. And most of all because I have the privilege of calling you "husband".
~ THE STRENGTH OF A MAN ~
The strength of a man isn't seen in the width of his shoulders, it's seen in the width of his arms that circle you.

The strength of a man isn't in the deep tone of his voice. It is in the gentle words he whispers.

The strength of a man isn't how many buddies he has. It's how good a buddy he is with his or "your" children.

The strength of a man isn't in how respected he is at work. It's in how he is respected at home.

The strength of a man isn't in how hard he hits. It's in how tender he touches.

The strength of a man isn't in how many women he's loved. It's in how true he can be to the ONE woman he's trying to love.

The strength of a man isn't in the weight he can lift. It's in the burdens he can carry.

The strength of a man isn't in how much food he eats from your table. It's in the effort he puts forth when you are unable.

The strength of a man isn't in how he makes love. It's in the understanding that there is more to making love . . . . than making love.

Mick dedicated 20 some years to being a fireman and squad person. He retired holding the position of Assistant Chief.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
A fireman's life was one big surprise. Usually he laughed, sometimes he cried. There was always stress, toil and strife, and he hoped he was good enough to save just one life. I as his wife understood when he missed dinner, and loving times were stopped all of a sudden. Answering a call was at the top of his list, regretting each one he ever missed. He tried and tried, but it was hard to make people see, the happiest men still work for free. Jumping from bed, fighting the cold, knowing what to do, without being told. He'd rush to the station, jump on a truck, depending on skill, never on luck. Putting his life on the line, for an unknown friend, hoping and praying it wouldn't be the end. "The Bravest Men In The World", the title is fitting, because Mick did his best, and never came close to quitting. Bless him for caring for so many people for so many years.
Marriage is not just spiritual communion and passionate embraces; marriage is also 3 meals a day, sharing the workload and remembering to carry out the trash.
May our light always
        shine bright!
May we always set good
examples for our children
and grandchildren . . . .

Because I know, because you know .....
Dedicated
Love,
   Susan
