Professional Opportunities

Resume

Graduation:
I will be graduating from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday, May 27, 2000! I think it will be the 2:30 ceremony, and then there is a party at my house in Stratford on May 28th!

Camp Lutherwood

I will be spending the summer at Camp Lutherwood in Oregon as a counselor. The activities at this camp include horseback riding, rafting, challenge activities with low and high ropes, and some wilderness camping. The clientele are K-12 and families, so this is quite a range, and different from my previous counseling experience at Bethel Horizons in 98 and 99. Camp Lutherwood does sound quite similar to Waypost, however, the camp that I worked at as a kitchen assistant in 96 and 97.

Lutheran Volunteer Corps opportunity

I was accepted into LVC and I am placed at the Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Tacoma, Washington. Orientation for LVC begins on August 29th in Washington D.C., then I'll go out to Tacoma with my 4 housemates. I am very excited about living in the Northwest on Puget Sound, seeing/climbing mountains, sailing, running, and ESPECIALLY building for Habitat. The big thing for this affiliate and I will be the Building on Faith blitz build from September 9-16, 2000. We will be building 5 houses in a week! Pray for strength and direction for this awesome week. I don't know my LVC house address yet, but here's my job...

Tentmakers opportunity

I talked with representative Wendell Watts about this organization. Tentmakers trains youth directors for leading a youth ministry in a church in the Midwest. This group requires a 2 year commitment to whatever church hires you. It sounded like very fulfilling work, but I don't think that I want to do it right out of college.
