Alan Roby Memorial

April 26, 1956 - May 11, 1999

This page is published in memory of my husband of almost 17 years, Alan Roby, who fought Hodgkins Disease for three years.

He was an extremely intelligent and gifted man and to this day I don't believe that his giftings were ever adequately recognized.  Some day I hope to publish some of his insightful exegetical writings.

In his final months he kept a journal of his thoughts, and the following are some excerpts from it:

I am still pouring my spirit out to hear fresh revelation from my Lord Jesus. You are wonderful Lord Jesus, a great high priest and forerunner in the faith. My eyes are on you as my only hope and Savior; my strength in this trial. My heart and faith reaches out to you my Jesus, for I look to you, the author and finisher of my faith. You rescued me by your precious blood. Your life indestructible, holds me and breathes new meaning and power into my life. Oh, how I long to behold your beauty in glory. My poor wracked body needs your healing touch in this land of the living. You have touched so many others and have healed them - even raised the dead - I know and believe your power can do this for me today You have always remained the same: yesterday, today and forever. My rest is in you Lord Jesus. I see in the midst of my failings and weakness, your strength O that my life would be pleasing to Thee every second of my existence

There are so many times I feel I've been like King Uzziah but in God's eyes, he still did what was right and lived for God. In His mercy, God did not destroy Uzziah as He did others Instead God's mercy overshadowed him. May that be so for me as well.

Sitting here in this lonely room I know You are here Lord Jesus. Your life still flows, Your grace still grows, it can surround and overflow my noisome mess. Recharge and hold me in Your presence Lord Jesus.
