A 17TH CENTURY EXORCIST considerably ahead of his time as he wears shades for his rituals, is played by Michael Gothard in "The Devils," the new Ken Russell form for Warner Bros. The exorcist is shown here with Venessa Redgrave, who playes Sister Jeanne of the Loneliness, the obsessed accuser of a preist with whom she enacts her sexual fantasies. The priest, played by Oliver Reed, is tried, tortured and burned to death. "The Devils" is based on the book by Aldous Huxley, "The Devils of Loudum" and the play by James Whiting.
