WILLIAM BROWN - from Northern Ireland. Supposedly married MARGARET ANN SMITH there before embarking for North America. I am now searching loyalist connections as many Northern Irish emigrated to North Carolina just before and during the American Revolution because the Landlords were severely increasing their land tax. There could possibly be a connection to the family names of Palmer and Carson as they supposedly travelled from Ireland in their company AND my grandfather's middle name is Palmer.

She married Hugh Hamilton (son of John Hamilton, Loyalist)of Rawdon Township and was mother to my gg-grandmother Eliza. Who were her parents and siblings?
HUGH HAMILTON - father of John the Loyalist. This Hugh was purportedly "a noted British Officer". I expect he came to one of the southern states from Ireland. Did he fight in the American Revolutionary War? Was his land confiscated? Did he come to Rawdon with John, his son?
JOHN PURDY - father of Samuel Purdy. I am trying to find out which of the three Loyalists brothers - Gilbert, Gabriel or Henry Purdy, of West Chester Co., New York, that he is connected. Their lands in NYwere confiscated by the Patriots. They received land grants at Remshag, Cumberland Co., NS I am trying to find out why some of the NY Purdy's remained loyal to the British and why some to the Patriot, too.. FREDERICK BRITTON - grandfather of Alice Emma (Purdy) Brown, my grandmother. WAS HE A LOYALIST? I have been unable to even find his name on a census record or anything. Hattie Winnefred Britton, his daughter was born in Rawdon, NS. I have found a Nathaniel Britton, but no conection found yet.
