PICKREM/ PICKERING FAMILY
The Pickering/Pickrem family landed at Pictou, Nova Scotia from Scotland.  John Pickering was born on the ship just off the cost of Nova Scotia.  His mother's name was Sarah Glassey.  The  Pickrem's settled at Lady Hammond Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia.  There was a Pickrem living in the old homestead as late as the 1990s.  My father lived at Lady Hammond Road where the Coca Cola plant was eventually built, until he was around 11 years old.  In about 1945, His family moved to Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia.  My grandmother sold the land on Lady Hammond Road in the early sixties for next to nothing.
