(Continued from previous page) The Coelancanth is caught quite often off the coast of Madagascar. In 1999, a new species of antelope, named the Spindlehorn, was discovered in Vietnam. I agree that many of the Bigfoot tracks that are reported are fakes. However, I do believe the majority of them to be the real article. In my opinion, it would be next to impossible to fake these prints found in extremely remote areas because of the following reasons: 1. If someone wanted to hoax footprints, he would place them in an area where they would be sure to be "found", not in areas so remote that the likelihood of them being discovered before they are washed away by rain or disappear from age is next to none. 2. Also, it would be impossible to fake footprints going up the side of a mountain that leave an impression of over 2" deep when a man weighing 250 lbs. leaves an impression of only 1/2" deep. In addition, these prints indicate a 6 foot stride that never falters! 3. There have been hair follicle samples that cannot be identified as belonging to Homo Sapiens (man) or a member of the animal world. They have been categorized as being from an unknown hominid. 4. In conclusion, I have spent so much time in the wilds of Florida and consider my outdoor skills at stalking to be above average. I firmly believe that the SkunkApe's, or Bigfoot, sense of hearing, smell and eyesight give this creature the advantage when it comes to trying to locate him. I believe that unless a precise set of circumstances occurs, we will never be able to see him before he knows we are there. This will give him time to conceal himself before our cameras can see him But, I will never stop looking, never stop researching, never stop hoping that I will see him again. "ALWAYS BELIEVE . . . HE IS OUT THERE!" (Back to home page) |

How it all started . . . It was a warm November day in 1983. I was in Collier County, Florida hunting hogs. My wife, Nadine, and I had gone to Naples, Florida to visit some friends. My friend suggested that he and I go hunting the next day. He said he knew of a good spot that was seldom hunted. That afternoon, we went to the area to have a look around. The next morning, as we were preparing to leave, my friend received a call to come in to work at his job with the state. He insisted that I go ahead to the area to hunt, and so I did. I was alone and about 3:30 p.m., I jumped a bunch of hogs in a large palmetto patch. When they got up, I almost had a stroke as I was not expecting this! They ran off to the north and left me trying to get my heart started again. Once I got my wits about me, I started to stalk the herd that had just startled me. I did not follow directly in their path, but skirted to the left. I was hoping to either cut them off, or see where they had crossed in front of me. I soon found myself out in a large sawgrass field. All around were numerous bayhead swamps of all sizes and dimensions. The grass was approximately 3ft. high. I thought that I would walk until I either found where they had crossed in front of me or had doubled back. It was now about 4:00p.m. and I was looking into the afternoon sun. I looked ahead and saw a dark spot at the edge of a bayhead. My first thought was that this was a bear. I had never seen a bear in the wild before. I got down and started to stalk forward. I got to within about 20 yards of where I had seen the spot and rose up to look. When I did, he turned at the waist and looked at me. That was when I realized that this was not a bear! I froze solid - inside and out! I wanted to run, but could not move! I forgot I was carrying a shotgun. This creature was standing on two legs, but not as a bear would stand. It looked at me for about 10 seconds, then turned and walked into the bayhead on two legs. I really do not know how long it took to get my cardiovascular and respiratory systems to work again. My brain was on overload . . . what did I just see? It was not a bear, not a man, not a gorilla. I never really thought too much about Bigfoot until this point. I finally realized that I was carrying a shotgun and got brave again. (story continued) |
