You can help before the Reunion!

The 1st Way - by donating to the Reunion fund to enable the setting up of the reunion itself,

The 2nd Way - by offering to help collect contact nammes and addresses of your immediate family, extended family and any other Sutherland contacts you have acquired over the years. 

The 3rd Way - by donating to the Grave Restoration Fund.  It is the desire of Robert and Grace's descendants to restore the headstones and graves of the family, which includes their son's and families at Walcha Cemetery.  Donations for this specific purpose are requested to be sent to the committee (see below).  Fundraising will be undertaken as well (to be notified in coming months) and if any profit is made from the Reunion it will also go entirely to the grave restoration.  Donations to the Sutherland Family Reunion 2006 should also indicate if you are supporting the Walcha graves restoration or the Warrnambool headstone erection for Catherine and William Smart.

The 4th Way - by collecting basic family tree information for your own branch of the family and as many of your relatives as you can.  It is important that these people give permission for their details to be used in family tree displays (at the reunion) and also in the planned book.

The 5th Way - by becoming a coordinator of your part of the family tree.  So far, several family branches are without a coordinator, so to ease the load on the committee, it would be wonderful to have your assistance.  The job would be as simple or involved as you want to make it - just your family, your parent's family, your grandparents family, or a complete branch, i.e. a grandchild of Robert and Grace and all those descendant families.  There are several very active researchers available to help you in any way if you need help or are a beginner.

Please contact any of these coordinators by sending an email with the subject "Attention (their name)" to sutherlandreunion@yahoo.com.au and they will reply.  Any help, no matter how small will be of tremendous help.  Don't assume we know anything and then you can't go wrong and nothing can be overlooked or go unknown.  If you would like to be kept up to date with all the news of the Reunion, and be involved in decisions still not finalised (and that is all the finer details), please email us and you will be put on the mailing list.  This is a combined effort and although quite a few of us 'know' each other through our research, we are just a drop in the bucket compared to the total descendants.  We want this to be a joint effort, enjoyed by all, not just a few.  So contribute your ideas, experience and knowledge by joining the discussions and become part of the Reunion before it even begins..

RESEARCH  You can pass your Sutherland information on to the committee for inclusion in the book that will be produced after the Reunion.  The expected launch will be at least a year after the Reunion, but the family tree information will be used for the genealogy display.

TIME  You can offer your help in coordinating information and contact details for your branch or family group of the tree.  This will not automatically assume you can help at the Reunion, but there will be plenty of opportunity to participate on the weekend.
