260301 » It's Oscar Night!

listening to / pretty violet stain / talk / nick sent it to me :D
eating \ ice cream!
feeling | i have a headache

8.04pm

Yes, my head hurts... it's throbbing! Ouch :/ Probably because I've been running around all day trying to do stuff and I only just got home an hour ago. But it's ok... I'm eating ice cream to make the pain go away! Trust me, it works.

We finally booked our tickets to Brisbane/Gold Coast... YAYAYAYA! I'm so excited! I haven't been on a holiday in so long so I'm going to make the most of it. I'm going to have so much fun! The place we're staying at has a heated pool, spa, sauna, tennis court, rah rah rah... so I'm planning on some heavy duty relaxation! Superjen is going to live luxuriously for a week.

And, of course, lets not forget seeing the gals in Brissy! :) I cant wait! Although Sarah has been warning me about the Valley... hehe

supersar: OMG JEN! When you go to brissy DO NOT GO TO THE VALLEY!!
It's full of drugs. and druggos and gay bars.
And whore houses...... DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!
The arty ritzy side is Paddington!

superjen: Hehehe
Nooooooooo i wanna go to the valley!!!!!!!! its like one of the most famous places in Australia!! For music, I mean......I would LOVEEEEE to go there..it has SO much character.

supersar: No way!
I risked my life once to go in to buy a barbie.... it was scary

That girl can be so funny :) I wanna go to the Valley! It has cute skinny arty bois *yum*

I think I've damaged my neck. It HURTS! I cant move it to the left... I might have caught Vic's pre-mature aging and falling apart disease. I blame lectures. See, I had to swing my head around to the right and stare at this girl who was sitting behind me, because she was doing her presentation. She could have gone up to the front and presented from there, but noooo, she had to be a difficult brat and sit at the back and make everyone turn around.

Anyway, if you can imagine what it feels like to have your neck twisted into an awkward position for two hours, you'll know it's not the greatest feeling in the world. When I turned to face forward again, my neck hurt so bad!

And to make matters worse, on the train ride home, I had my neck twisted around again for another hour because my friend kept talking and talking and I couldn't move! So now, I'm walking around like an idiot who cant move her neck to the right... eek, what have I done!!?!?

That's it! No more lectures for me! And I have a valid reason this time... mwahaha

While I'm on the subject of lectures... Doesn't it suck when someone is giving a presentation and they single you out as being the person to stare at for the duration of their talk!? This ALWAYS ends up being me! I don't know why, it's not like I'm everyone's best friend or anything! But as soon as a person gets up there, I'm officially their target audience! And this really sucks, because I have to give the constant appearance of looking interested, nodding when they're making a point, and smiling for encouragement! Dammit, I'm not your personal support group! Find someone else to stare at!

You know, I spent all day trying to dodge newspapers, television reports, and even radio! Why? Because I didn't want to know who won what Oscar, that's why! I mean I know it's all a huge load of crap that is hyped up way too much, blah blah blah... but still! I wanted to come home and watch the Oscars for 3 long mindless hours while whinging and nagging and bagging the 'academy'. It's a fun ritual!

And I was totally looking forward to doing just that when I got home 30 minutes before the show started. So I got myself ready, sat down with an assorted variety of junk food, my mobile in case of emergencies (ie: "ds is online jen! get on!") and made sure I had control of the remote. 5 minutes to go, I'm thinking... this is great! I hope Jeffrey wins, I really do! Then, there was a news update.

"...and Russell Crowe has won the Oscar for Best Actor..." AAAARRRRGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! I was SO close to not finding out! Damn you television news! Why the hell would you say that a few minutes before the awards started?!?! Bastards!

So now I'm really annoyed that the end has been ruined for me. Of course, I'm still gonna watch...

watching / the academy awards
wearing \ my winnie the pooh pjs!
feeling | like i've seen this a million times already

10.38pm

I hate Russell Crowe.

Ohh.. Julia's dress has been giving me cravings for candy all night! It reminds me of confectionary... Look at it! Haha... Candy on a stick! Julia is a lollypop! What a crap choice, Jules...

Although I AM glad that she won. It's not like anyone else in that category was worthy of an Oscar, and she is a funky gal! Her speech was great! Although, I think there was way too much sentimentality in most of the speeches... Like, get over it already, you're actors, not UN secretaries.

Omg, what about Tom Hank's and his new facial hair? He looks like Hitler! I swear I could so imagine him doing the Nazi salute when he was up there on the podium...freaky...

Angelina Jolie is sexy!

I'm so glad that Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon got the attention it deserves! It was the best film this year, I reckon. For once the Oscars had some good content. And those acrobats were so groovy!

"I'd like to thank my mom and my dad and everyone who supported me, and my friends and my manager, and my neighbour and my pet fish, oh and the local shop keeper for giving me my daily sugar hit..."

Jen,

xxx
