Welcome to
Soul gardening
The sacred art of relating harmoniously.
Interesting tidbits:
Tomatoes are tender perennials treated as half-hardy annuals. Many varieties exist, from dwarf determinate plants to large indeterminate ones, bearing fruit that ranges in size and acid content from low-acid cherry tomatoes to full-flavoured beefsteaks.
     The tomato’s Latin name
Lycopersicon is from the Greek lykos, a wolf, and persicon, a peach, probably in reference to the fruit’s supposed poisonous qualities.
     The species name
esculentum means edible.
The first English names given to the tomato in the 16th century were “Peruvian apple” or “apple of Peru.” This would seem to indicate a Peruvian origin although the common name of “tomato” derives from the ancient Mexican word
tomatl.
     The more romantic French name
pomme d’amour, given to the tomato when it first came to Europe, has remained as the rarely-used English “love apple.”
