Simplicity, truth, inner knowing.

Interesting tidbits:

Daisy is the name for several common wildflowers of the family
Asteraceae (the aster family). The daisy of literature, the true daisy, is Bellis perennis, called the English daisy in North America. It is a low herbaceous plant native to Britain, as well as Algeria and other Mediterranean countries. The double form, with heads of white, pink, or red flowers, is most often cultivated in North America. The English daisy closes at night.
        The Western daisy (
Astranthum or Bellis integrifolium) is a purple-flowered species native to the lower Mississippi basin.
        The name
Bellis is from the Latin bellus, pretty, and the common name is based on the Anglo-Saxon daeges eage, day’s eye, later corrupted to daisy.
Cattle and insects do not eat daisies because the taste of the leaves is so acrid.
A common proverb associated with the flower says, “When you can put your foot on seven daisies summer is come.”
The daisy has long been considered the flower of children and of innocence.
