| Advance Autism Research; Register for the IAN Project
The Kennedy Krieger Institute launched the Interactive Autism Network (IAN) the first national online autism registry at http://www.ianproject.org/. IAN, which is funded by a grant from Autism Speaks, will facilitate the exploration of causes, treatments and the search for a possible cure to this puzzling disorder. This is the fourth year the retailer has been actively involved in autism awareness, having raised over $2.2 million since 2004. VH1 Classic will launch a new initiative geared towards raising awareness about autism. The "Rock Autism" campaign will kick off with a music star-studded public service announcement to mark the start of Autism Awareness Month, and will also include news segments on the cable channel and fundraising programs that will benefit Autism Speaks. | Toys 'R' Us Launches In-Store Campaign
On March 18, Toys “R” Us and the Toys “R” Us Children's Fund will kick off a nationwide fundraising campaign to benefit Autism Speaks. Through May 4, all 586 Toys “R” Us stores across the country will accept cash donations to support Autism Speaks in its efforts to help solve the puzzle of autism, and online shoppers will be able to contribute via the web.
