In the meantime, Travis and the freestylers are headed to Cleveland for the Gravity Games, and he’s got another incredible, crazy, insane jump that he’s doing, as you can see in this photo he sent us!

“Allen Cook did it on a BMX bike at X Games this year,” Travis told me. “He was the first one to do it, and everyone was like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe it!’ So my friends and my cousins all came back here to the foam pit. It’s a really, really weird-feeling trick. It slows your rotation down and then speeds it up. I have it down pretty good over dirt, but I’ve never done a dirt takeoff. And Gravity is going to be ramps and dirt, so it’s going to be a wild, wild experience.”

“With the seat grab, you just work it like a regular seat grab. You just have to figure out the rotation of the backflip, which is the hard part. But once you have your backflip dialed, you can start working on the seat grab. You have to make sure your bars are straight. So once you figure out the backflip, the seat grab is really easy, actually.” Gee, it looks easy, too.
Also on the RACERHEAD....
One more Travis Pastrana thing I should mention: I asked him when he may race motorcycles again. “Motocross is definitely where I want to be. If I don’t win a championship I will definitely feel incomplete for my career. But I have to take a little time off. I’ll probably race a couple of events next year, maybe the St. Louis Supercross. Then I’ll do some freestyle events. Then in 2005 I’ll come back and hopefully have a good year.”
