TASK FORCE
IRONHORSE
Deployment:Operation Iraqi Freedom: On January 24, 2003 the 300th Quartermaster Company was activated. We stayed at the unit gathering and loading equipment on January 28th when we left for Fort McCoy, WI. At Fort McCoy we spent two months preparing to do our job in Iraq. On March 28, 2003 we left the United States for Kuwait where we waited for orders on where we would be positioned in Iraq as well as waited for our vehicles to arrive from their overseas journey. On April 14th second platoon made it's way north providing fuel support for the 544 Maint. Bn.(Taskforce Patriot) as well as for the 4th ID on their way north into Iraq. In late April the 300th began to arrive at FOB Speicher just north of Tikrit, Iraq. While first Platoon began supplying Northern Iraq with food, bottled water and other parishable items and third platoon started to purify and issue thousands of gallons of water per day, second platoon undertook the task of providing fuel to every  vehicle on and coming through FOB Speicher averaging 5000 to 30000 gallons of fuel per day. This continued until the 7th of April 2004 when we finally returned to Fort McCoy ending our deployment and finally returning to our families after a full year boots on ground.
