RACING! |

Here's where I will keep people updated on racing/trackdays. I'll try to throw some pictures up here as well. |

The picture above was taken September 2004 by Jack Beaudry at Sliderphoto.com . Unfortunately this is one of the last pictures taken before I crashed, putting a nasty dent into that beautiful cranberry red tank. :( That helmet is also "for display purposes only". |

I race in CCS Lightweight races in the amatteur ranks. I had fun this year, but failed to have any significant races. Next year I'll race a bit but focus A LOT more on learning and track time. I will probably race LESS to focus on more track time through track days. |

TRACK DAYS, WHAT ARE THOSE? |
Track days can best be described a chance to use a sporting motorcycle in a safe(r), controlled enviornment free of oncoming traffic, gravel, cars and other nasty things found on public roads. They are done at closed circuit road course tracks (meaning they go left and right, sometimes REALLY close to each other). They are not races but generally used to have fun and improve the rider's ability. They offer more time on the track in a day than races. One weekend at a track day, no matter how slow you are, generally will make you more in control of your motorcycle than 1/2 the street riders on the roads today. I have been tasked (I volunteered, actually) to write an introduction to track days for newcomers. When I complete it I will post a link to it. In general, I suggest hitting Sportbiketracktime.com (STT) for your complete and total first session, then after that expanding to other organizations. Their novice session is not to be missed, a lot of good points come up in there. STT also have reduced price track days for women and two up rides during lunch (provided the weather is good). Other good track day organizations are NESBA and PrivateTrackTime. All organizations have good and bad points. All are ran by good people that want you to have fun and be safe. |
