We left Belize and anchored behind Cabo Tres Puntras on 5-23-2005. We arrived with a 15 to 20 knot East wind. It was perfect. The wind was right off the land and we had a quite anchorage. We anchored in 12 feet of water over mud and sand. This is a great place to anchor before going in at Livingston.
This area has a lot of expensive vacation homes for rich Guatemalans and a couple of resorts. We had a quite dinner and went to bed since we had to get up early to go to Livingston. The pictures are looking left, straight ahead and to the right.
Well about 2am we woke up when the boat motion changed. We had about 15 to 20 out of the West. This put us with our backs to the land and about a 2 to 3 foot chop running. We got the anchor up about 3 am and motored slowly toward Livingston. All in all not the best way to start a day. We know several boats that came here after us and had no problem. We know of 2 that were here the day before us and had no problem. Go figure.
Just so you don't think all the buildings were nice at Cabo Tres Puntas here is one that was right in front of us.
