The main participants in the municipal and mayoral elections declare their properties for a journalistic research initiated by "24 hours" daily and "168 hours" weekly

Why the low obliged the deputies, ministers and high magistrates annually to declare their property, and do not obliged the mayors to do so?

Isn't it true that for four year period so many things lay in their power - from the municipality's global development up to the way of life of any single their citizen? Mayors possess big authorities. They often rule and manage property for millions of dollars. Countless opportunities for personal favor and scheme for corruption are surrounding them, even kept invisible for the public.

Both the activities and the properties of the mayor nominees prior and after their mandates should be monitored in order all the ways for misfeasance to be prevented. It is a natural process, we think. We are convinced that sooner or later the legislators will correct this omission. "24 hours" daily and "168 hours" weekly decided to appeal to the mayor nominees to announce their property right now, voluntarily without no demands imposed by the low. They did so. Data show that mayor nominees took advantages from their publicity. What they declare is not necessary to be taken as the absolute truth. But this is a way they to understand that are yet in the light spots.

Our initiative was supported by a special project developed from the Organization of the Danish investigational journalists.

To all Sofia Mayor Nominees' /latest opinion polls shows they will win 4% altogether/ we offered they to announce their property, to tell in what kind of companies they participate, whom they expect to support them financially for their election campaign, who their friends are etc. We do believe that some more transparency and honest communication with the voters could only benefit their campaigns.

Our proposal was accepted by Luben Dilov, Vasil Ivanov - Luciano, Nadejda Mihailova and Stefan Sofianski. Only Stoyan Alexandrov delicately declined the invitation promising to announce his property after he wins the elections. We will publish data for the main mayor nominees' in Plovdiv, Varna, Rousse, Bourgas, Stara Zagora, Kardjali, Haskowo, Blagoevgrad and Pleven. We are confident of the fact that this information will be useful for the voters.

 

Alexandrov - listed in the

largest number of firms

Stoyan Alexandrov is a candidate mayor with the most branched business. His name can be found in 36 structures, two of them are officially closed, according to the Ciela information system.

"I will announce my property on October 27, a day after I won the elections" - promised mayor nominee through his press attache Mihailina Abrasheva.

The interesting thing is that Stoyan Alexandrov participates in trade companies and non business related associations together with people from almost all political parties. He is in the managing body of the Industry Capital Association, together with the Economy Minister Lydia Shuleva.

In "Bulinvest" company Alexandrov partners with Alexander Tomov - the head of the "Euro left wing" political formation.

In "Assistance for the charity in Bulgaria" foundation he is together with Nikolai Mladenov - Union of Democratic Forces spokesman.

Asen Michkovski and Ilian Shotlekov, the powerful deputies from the Grand National Assembly, who run a gun business, are among his partners in "Bisera-oliva" and "Bisera-oliva-98".

The Sofia mayor nominee is among the founders of "St. Georgi Sofiiski" civil movement together with Vejdi Rashidov, Hatcho Boyadjiev etc.;

"24 hours" sent a list with Mr. Alexandrov's company partnerships in his pre-election headquarter as they appear in "Daxi" and "Ciela" information systems. You've asked candidate for the mayor post in Sofia to specify in which firms he is still participating and in which he has a joint participation.

In response we received not so comprehensive information as this we've sent.

The firms "Antoan 83" Ltd., "Pentakonsult International", "Geneva Group International" and "Union Management consulting" have their registrations, but never started to operate. It's possible they to be closed, and his joint participation in them to be lower. Alexandrov possesses around 15% of the shares from Management and business Institute, 3% from "Deneb", 8% from "Bulinvest Group", 7% from "Inplast Treid", 9% from "Geneva Group International", 8% from "Anion Management consulting" and 100% from "Alexandrov and cie". He participates also in the management of "Tokuda bank".

 

Dilov - owner of the apartments

Luben Dilov - son, candidate for the mayor post in capital Sofia from "Gergiovden, Mozer, Pramatarski" coalition states that together with his wife Elina possess two apartments in Sofia qarter "Mladost".

The first one is 50 sq. meters big and the second 80 sq. meters. There live Dilovi's, their three children and the family dog. The candidate for the mayor post in capital Sofia and his wife are heirs of two more apartments in Sofia.

They are signed over their children. Dilov uses its office car. He is intending to buy it. He had declared gross income of 23 928 lv. for the past year and 6288 lv. paid taxes. "In "Slavi's show" is easy, because all we are doing is clear", Dilov says. "It is a foreign company and there are no shady things. All invoices are American ones. Americans are afraid from tax inspectors as if they are the devil", he adds.

Today candidate for the mayor post in capital Sofia has dropped out from all his firms. He swears he does not have an account in a Swiss bank or in any other attractive countries. His personal savings - approximately 30-40 thousands lv., he has invested in Bulbank. He prefers to invest mainly in paintings, precious literature and for voyages abroad.

"We spend all we earn. We like to have a good time. Because we are five persons, we a crossing the world as a small Russian group", he laughs. The connection with "Slavi's show" thrust Dilov forward; there is no doubt about this. Many people are analyzing his long term business relations and different rumors are spreading about his funding, most of them are mutually exclusive. These rumors become vivid thanks to his business relations and friendships in the years.

In "Brain Company" Dilov-son is a partner with Slavi Trifonov, Rosen Petrov etc. Slavi owns 26%, Luben Dilov - 25% and most of the scrip writers in the show have 9% each one of them. In August Dilov leaves the management of "Sedem Osmi" JSCo. That is to say that at the moment he is only a co-owner of the "Slavi's show". Slavi Trifonov, Rosen Petrov and Evgeni Dimitrov - The maestro are running the firm at the moment. The presenter of the show has 50% but Rosen Petrov - 15%. It remains unclear if Dilov had preserved at any form his 35 % of the shares.

Luben Dilov is a member of the board of managers of the "Bulgarian Tae Kwon-Do" federation. In 1997 for a month he participates in the supervisory board of "Balkan society" association together with Slavi Binev, Slavi Trifonov etc.

The name of the former Tae Kwon-Do champion Slavi Binev becomes famous in November 1993 when he was kidnapped from the sport complex "D'escrim" and Dimata the Russian guy, the big and the Little Margins' and Dimitar Djamov beat him to death. The Margins' later becomes bosses of "SIK" force insurance group while Djamov founds "Zora holding". Today Slavi Binev is among the most powerful Sofia business men. He is an owner of the bar chain "Cool house" through "M.I.G." group and participates in "R-Systems" holding.

Luben Dilov-son is categorical that former Tae Kwon-Do champion does not funding his pre-election campaign.

In March 1997 Dilov becomes business partner with Boiko Draganov - general secretary of "Multigroup". He participates in "Esperansa - 7" foundation of. In "Esperansa - 7" members were all the three unions of people with disabilities in Bulgaria. "We wanted to create a lottery for people with disabilities", Dilov recalls. When the scandal between "Hashove" and Ivan Kostov flared up, the bleu ones used the name of Draganov to discredit us. Thus the project failed and we could not start working.

 

Luciano has an estate

"I transferred all my shares on 23 August 2001. Since then I do not have any shares and I do not participate in the management of any firms", Vasil Ivanov-Luciano starts. His declaration shows that in 2001 he had received a total amount of 2 741 lv. as a sole trader. He declares a property for 222 520 lv. described as 990 sq. m itself and 203 sq. m. in addition. He has two more estates at "Slaveikov" square. The first one comes up to 25 000 lv., while the second is a donation. Sofia mayor candidate of the ruling party Simeon II National Movement has also $ 26 631 in a bank deposit, Mercedes for 10 000 lv. and Nissan Jeep for 14 000 lv.

"What I created in my live is transparent, clear and clean! Everyone can touch it", Luciano declares.

He is not specific about who is funding his campaign. "I have many friends, who are willing to support me and will pay in. There is an account opened into a national pre-election headquarter of Simeon II National Movement!", the Sofia mayor candidate declares. "What if happens to offer you dirty money from the groups" Luciano answer by asking: "Who are the groups? The important thing is everyone to be able to evaluate the fact if there are groups in Bulgaria, or not. Simeon II National Movement had collected enough money to finance the election campaign in whole the country". To the question "Is there something they can use to attack you?", Luciano says in the spirit of a fighter: "Of course! We are live people".

He claims that he started his business through some production and a loan from Bulgaria's Central Bank. Legends are hovering above Luciano's first million. The first version is that Vasil Ivanov is the happy darling of a rich countess. "It would be wonderful, but I do not have an aunt millionaire", Sofia mayor candidate of the ruling party Simeon II National Movement smiles.

According other legend the force groups "VIS" and "SIK" are legalized parts of their primary funds using him. In the past they had sponsored his chain of confectionaries. Luciano strikes back: "When in 1991 I founded my company VIS and SIK did not even exist around". Some time ago Ivanov owned 168 shares of "Luciano Taxi" Ltd. Together with Peter Nedialkov. Luciano has been partner also with Nikolai Borshukov, ex manager of "Boyana film" and at the present Secretary General in the Ministry of Youth and Sport. His name is entered in a list of the members of the managing committee of "Trust and protection" foundation, together with the advertising boss Krasimir Grgov etc.

Up to 1999 he participates in board of the directors of the Levski professional Football Club, as well as in "Pro sport team" sport club and "Levski-Luciano" boxing club.

The most curious business circle that surrounds Vasil Ivanov - Luciano is formed in "Agroproduct B" firm. In 2001 he possesses 4.16% of the firm. 8.33% of it has ex Prime Minister Luben Berov and ex Minister of Infrastructure and Development - Hristo Totev. Georgi Tanev - ex Minister of agriculture also participates in the ruling body of the firm. Georgi Naidenov - founder of the bank and economic group "Texim" is among firm founders, as well. According to the company registers the group connected to "Accroproduct B" is occupied with plant-growing and farming economy.

Today candidate for the mayor post in capital Sofia says that he had stopped to run after his businesses. He does not come into details and break away to speak about money. He affirms that for the first time he felt the success at the moment of his daughter's birth. "In the pre-election race I count on my sincerity. Hope the citizens of Sofia will feel my campaign with their hearts", Pavaroti's admirer tenderly says.

 

 

Nadejda does not have a private

share of Bulgarian Communist party's garage

 

 

Nadejda Mihailova declared for 2002 an 116 sq. meters apartment and 18,4 sq. meters underground garage together with ideal parts of the land belonged. She is a co-owner of this estate together with her husband Kamen Mihailov. We've asked Mrs. Mihailova about any changes in her property status ever since. "No, my family property status had not been changed", she responded using the services of Union of Democratic Forces spokesman Nikolai Mladenov.

"If during the present year any change occurs it will be duly added to my next declaration", the candidate for the mayor post in capital Sofia, says. What about the controversial issue about the property of the Bulgarian Communist party's garage? This is the theme which most often focuses the public attention on Nadejda Mihailova. According to the company register "Avtotransservice" - the owner of the complex, on its site is 82% possession of "Sigmakar" company. This company on the other hand is 100% possession of Kamen Mihailov, shows Daxy data system. We've asked Mrs. Mihailova does she posses any sharers from this garage.

"I'm not a founder or an associate in"Avtotransservice" and "Sigmakar", I do not have any parts or shares in these associations and I am not involved in any trade activity", Mrs. Mihailova responded. "As far as my husband participates in these associations and it could be assumed that his shares could be considered as an object of a family community, it could be stated that this expresses my eventual participation in this business".

Kamen Mihailov had received 19 040 lv. annual salary as a manager of that very same garage.

Nadejda Mihailova does not directly possess parts in these associations. Her name is entered in the management body of "Democratic alternative" together with Nikolai Mladenov and Plamen Oresharski. Her name is mentioned in "Democracy" JSCo. together with Alexander Bojkov, Neven Kopandanova, Hristo Biserov etc. In conjunction with Ivan Kostov she participates in Euro-Atlantic Security Institute Board of managers and in the Union of Democtatic Forces ruling.

 

Sofianski has a loan from

State Savings Bank and a rich wife

 

 

The present Sofia mayor Stefan Sofianski declared possession of a six apartments. Four of them are donated from his wife's parents - between 1989 and 1999. The most attractive ones are respectively 273 sq. meters and 190 sq. meters big. They are in the ideal center on the capital. Further more the family possesses also a villa and a plot of 1170 sq. meters, acquired in 1999. There is a house build on this plot - 31 sq. meters big. With these symbolic measures is also another house situated in Poruchik Chunchevo village.

She is built only on 45 sq. meters but the yard plot spreads over 2280 sq. meters. The family prefers to pass all their vacations there, while the mayor organizes press conferences and demonstrates his culinary know-how.

Sofianski does not possess any of these properties by himself - everything he has is to his wife - Alisa, as well. The only exception is the most imposing of his estates - story of a house situated on 57 "Oborishte" Str. and a part of a loft in Sofia. He had acquired them after a jobbing, the mayors clarifies.

Sofianskis' also possesses one ninth of a store in Vratza town, in result of the restitution benefited his parents. The auto park of the mayor we can count only a modest Polish "Fiat 126". The mayor has a bank account with 2800 dollars in Municipal bank. In this field he is far beyond his wife who has an account with 13 400 EURO in the same bank. Sofianski has declared a18 000 lv. loan received from State Savings Bank. The family does not mention any participation in trade firms.

According to the firm registered in 1993 Sofianski together with Hristo Drumev - the manager of National Palace of Culture was in the managing body of a Bulgarian Post Bank. Their partners were also Marian Dragostinov - at that time director of a Bulgarian Telecommunication Company and Yanko Radenkov - ex director of the Bulgarian Posts etc.

To be correct at that time Sofianski was a chairman of a Post and Long Distance Communication Committee and had participated in the bank as a presenter of this institution.

At the present he is a chairman of a Board of trustees of "Ivan Vazov" National Theatre together with Stefan Danailov, Ivan Garelov etc. He is also a member of a Board of managers of the Bulgarian National Municipalities' Association together with 18 other mayors. He is also in the ruling of an association of the Bulgarian Tourist Union with Kostadin Paskalev, Ioan Kostadinov etc. As a mayor he participates in "Sofena - Sofia energy agency".

 

 

PLOVDIV

 

 

Bank deposit at the rate of 10 000 lv. has the Bulgarian socialist Party's mayor nominee

Zahari Georgiev, the left wing mayor nominee in Plovdiv has 10 000 lv. savings. His family lives in an 85 sq.m. apartment on "Ivan Vazov" Str. The real-estate is a heritage from his parents, as well as the two decares land in Komatevo Plovdiv's quarter and Hrabrino village.

Together with his wife, niece and Draje Valcheva - former prime secretary of Bulgarian Communist Party in Plovdiv, he has a house in Gorna mahala - village near Karlovo town. The 60 sq.m. office, occupied by "Lanimex" - Liudmila's company, is also a family property.

He has also shares in the partnership in Parvomai village and they make profits on them of around 20 lv. per year. From the mass privatization he has bought also thirty or so shares in "Milk industry" in Plovdiv town. During his present mandate as a municipal councillor Zahariebv participates in the supervisory council of the Municipal Privatization agency in Plovdiv. He is among the founders of "Plovdiv 21 century" foundation which though does not function.

Together with his wife have "Lada Samara" produced in 1993.

"My biggest fortune is my collection of contemporary coins, orders, medals and stamps", Georgiev considers. "I have not counted what is their value and how much money they cost, but I would not sell anything, as Simeon Saxe-Goburg made with his grandfather's orders.", Georgiev says.

 

Radeva and her husband

are driving a new Peugeot

Nina Radeva and her husband Yordan are driving a brand new Peugeot 406 produced in 2003, they possess also an old house in Svejen village - monument of material culture.

They bought the car for 20 000 lv. on a promotion session from "Sofia trans auto". The house they acquired in 1995 and it was in very poor condition, it was almost fallen apart. They started restoring procedures part by part. On the first storey they made a bath room, a rest room and a modern pantry. They also made a new chimney-place.

We have to adapt it to our requirements and style of life and thus appeared to be a difficult task, Radeva comments. The real estate built on around 60-70 sq.m. has two floors. Yordan Radev, director of the International Plovdiv fair gave the idea they to buy the house.

In Plovdiv the family has and apartment - 130 sq.m. at the center of the city - on 16"Ruski" Blvd.. They have bought it in 1985 together with the garage - 20 sq.m. big.

From five years Radeva is an owner of a home - 105 sq. m. big on 21"Pencho Slaveikov" Str. The apartment has been built in 1967 and the deputy has received it as a heritage from her mother.

Still in 2001, the year when she was elected as a deputy to the National Assembly, Radeva liquidates her participation in all kind of firms. "I have some savings and has declared it to the Audit Office", Radeva tells. Together with her husband's saving the family assets count 65 000 lv. "My bank deposit is in Raifeizen bank and is for 15 000 euro", she explains. The rest of the money belongs to her husband.

He also possesses a company named "Topconsult" dealing with management consulting, but it does not function at the moment.

 

Garnevski has bought

a 841 sq.m. plot

"Whole the world can see what I possess", the independent Plovdiv mayor nominee Spas Garnevski says. At the very beginning of the pre-election campaign on 26 September he published this information on the Internet. The list contains six points. In the beginning is put the apartment where he lives together with his wife Donka. The family home is 98 sq.m. big and is located on 56 "Iztok" Str. in Plovdiv. They have bought it in 1980.

Former United Democratic Forces' leader in Plovdiv possesses half of a house storey in Markov village - 45 sq.m. big. This is my paternal home, built on 1967, Garnevski explains. Inheritances from his father are also 8 decares land in the same village. 3 of them are common possession with his wife Donka.

Since the last year Garnevski has a real estate in the popular tourist countryside Biala cherkva above Dobralak village. 841 sq. m. plot is bought by a private person. One storey building is made on 50 sq.m. "When I make some hotels, then you can ask me more about this place", Garnevski curtly says.

He denies having a bank deposit or any participation in firms. In 1990 he has experienced a failure attempting to establish company with some of his cousins. They registered it as a universal company but the very next year Garnevski started to work in "Hristo G. Danov" publishing house and had to quit the family firm. Since 1998 he is a co-founder and a chairman of the "Europe Adaptation" foundation dedicated to assist children who are orphans, who have disabilities and who live a poor life.

Garnevski has an automobile "Ford Focus", bought on lease and the contract expires in 2004. "The car belongs to "Moto Phoe, it will become mine, when I pay the last installment", he claims.

The Prosecutor's Office

investigated Chomakov

The Plovdiv's mayor Ivan Chomakov lives in a 91 sq.m. apartment on 16 "Lerin"Str. The home was bought in 1994-1995 period. Garnevski used to live in the center of Plovdiv, before to move to "Zapaden" region. "We had two houses and a 1 decare yard, but this real estate was taken away from us and later destroyed", Garnevski recalls.

"After 15 years period of waiting they compensated us with an 85 sq.m. apartment on "Bogomil" Str.", the mayor explains. Since two week this home is let.

On Chomakov's name is signed a villa in Belitza village - 120 sq.m. big.

The courtyard around it is about 500 sq.m. Together with his wife they have 40 sq.m. of a total in the center of Plovdiv city. The premise is let to hair dressers who work there. Together with his brother Georgi, who is working in Germany for 15 years, have 20 decares near by Rogosh and Skutare villages in Plovdiv region. The land was a co-operative once; after the co-operation went bankrupt it was left to become desolate. The two brothers and their mother are inheritors up to 300 sq.m. in Dedevo village in Rodopa mountain each one of them. The mayor's wife is also an owner of a land in Chirpan town region - around 15 decares. She granted them on lease and this year she gained 500-600 lv. Katya has also 250 sq.m. rising ground in Chepelare. Chomakov does not have a private car. The Nissan Jeep known to the citizens of Plovdiv, belongs to his brother.

"Probably I am the only mayor, investigated by the Prosecutor's office based upon the Low of the citizenship property. This happened in the middle of my mandate", Chomakov points out. "The investigation proved that my incomes are surpassing comparing to the properties I possess, because my length of service as an assistant in the Higher Institute of Mathematics, where I worked for twenty years, and I've worked for 4 years in Lybia", the mayor explains.

 

Atanasov lives

on 66 sq.m.

 

35-years old Plovdiv mayor nominee Slavcho Atanasov, supported by the Macedonian political movement lives together with his wife on 88 "Skopie"Str. in Plovdiv. Their home is a classic apartment from the communist era and is 66 sq.m. big. To buy it his wife borrowed 10 000 lv. loan from United Bulgarian Bank and she did not paid it in full.

He has inherited from his grandfather a house in Skutare village near Plovdiv. Now his parents live there. 2-3 years ago they built an additional storey after they sold an apartment in the center of Plovdiv.

"Our biggest possessions are our patrimonial agricultural lands", Atanasov says. He has 20 decares in Gradina village near Parvomai town and his wife - two times more agricultural lands in Yambor town region. The plots are grant on lease and they are receiving up to 100 lv. each one of them.

Atanasov's wife and his sister will inherit 130 sq.m. big apartment in Yambol. "We are happy with what we have, moreover it is difficult to maintain more than one house", Atanasov concludes.

 

 

 

Varna Mayor Nominees'

Where Varna Mayor Nominees' money came from? What kind of properties they have and in what kind of companies they participate in standing on the brink of the city-hall?

Our initiative is to lighten up these questions? We are convinced that more publicity about the mayor nominees' money and properties could be only beneficial for the society.

Some changes in the legislations are prepared regarding the probability mayors and chairmen of city councils to be obliged to declared their money and possessions, Georgi Nikolov, director of the Bulgarian Audit office states.

On Saturday we've published data for the main Sofia mayor nominees. Today you will read about Varna's top five mayor nominees, as they are rated according to the last public opinion poll. What they declare is not necessary to be taken as the absolute truth. This is only a way they to understand that are kept under observation.

 

 

Vanuhi Arakelian

co-owns five real estates

 

Supported by the United Democratic Forces Varna mayor nominee Vanuhi Arakelian 10 days ago called all mayor nominees municipal councillors to announce their family possession.

The data for her family were launched on her web site on Monday. 36-year old judge has 55,21 sq. m. apartment in Varna, half of 96,71 sq. m. apartment - as a donation since 1993, 1425 sq. m. estate located in Planova place - acquired after a jobbing in 1990, 5/35 ideal parts from two shops in Varna town - donated in 1993, and 1/6 ideal parts from 1200 sq. m. in Sotira place - received as a heritage.

She does not declare any money in a bank deposit.

Arakelian does not participate in any business structures, according to the "Ciela" information system.

Her name appears only in the Board of managers of the Armenian Information Business Forum and Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church "St. Sarkis" in Varna.

 

 

Vesselin Danov is

real estates millionaire

 

Varna mayor nominee from "Justice for Varna" might appear the richest mayor candidate in Bulgaria.

He intends to add some additional medium of circulation credited from PIMBank, but he possesses a huge number of real estates and several firms and associations.

He possesses "Danov commerce" Ltd., "Solo commerce" privately owned company and "Helius" firm together with his wife Veselinka Danova, shows "Ciela" register. The mayor nominee for a second mandate Kiril Yordanov presented to "24 hours" reporter his property status declaration. It shows that he has a storey of a house in the centre of the Varna city and a bank deposit with 3000 lv. in Investbank.

10 days ago Yordanov married to a Ukrainian woman - Elena Valeeva - mother of his son Peter. The new Madam Yordanova is a rich woman. She owns a villa in Bachik town, automobile Renault and 3 companies for certifications, labor medicine, and laboratory for medical check-ups.

They also possess land in the South industrial zone in Pavlikeni city.

Yordanov does not present in the registers as owner or partner in any business associations. He is a member of the Managing committee of the Economy Development Association - Varna, and of the Association of the city mayors for European Union Incorporation. His name presents in the Managing committee of the non for profit association "Unity", as well. There his partner is Anna Nedialkova - rector of the Varna free university.

Varna mayor candidate of the ruling party Simeon II National Movement - Yani Yanev and his family have two apartments - the first received as a heritage, claimed Yordanov and the second bought with money saved during his period as a lawyer. Yanev is a co-owner with his mother and sister of a two real estates - a summer villa in Kumanovo village,

burned recently and farming lands, received after the restitution in the country.

Yanev has also a bank deposits in two banks with 13 874 lv. and Renault automobile for 3400 lv. As a district governor he has received an annual salary of 12 229,41 lv. for 2002. As a pediatric consultant his wife had received an annual income of 734 lv. According to his 2001 declaration and the public register Yanev has 3600 US dollars in a bank deposit in Bulbank and 1000 US dollars and 10 000 lv. in a private safe.

In the same declaration Yanev also indicates two homes - one 60 sq. m. big and the second 209 sq. m. bought for 34 387 lv. together with a house and a yard plot. The register shows that he possesses 17 000 parts form "Bevatu-ceramics" Ltd., as well. These parts have been transferred in 1994, he claims. "Vardar" private firm has been registered as his possession but it did not have any activity and has been closed. Yordanov had participation in "Concord" company. He also declared that he is engaged with several non governmental organizations and societies, but does not receive any incomes out of this.

Candidate for the mayor post in Varna from "Gergiovden, Mozer, Pramatarski" coalition works as a regional manager of "Euro Ins" Insurance Company. According to the verification, presented to "24 hours" daily, she has an apartment at "Opalchenska" Str. in the center of Varna as a sole proprietor. The estate is 127, 61 sq. m. big and its financial estimation is for 122 616 lv. She has needed a loan to buy it and that is why she referred State Savings Bank for 98 000 lv. loan which still pays.

The candidate participates in "Euro auto service" company as a proxy of the manager.

The mayors who governed Bourgas for the past eight years declared to "24 hours" reporter that the only car signed over his name is Shkoda 120. He describes it as a luxury class one.

For the last time Ioan Kostadinov had been seen to drive his own car during the pre-election campaign four years ago. During his mandate he uses the services of a personal driver and enjoys the comfort of a silver colour Ford. The mayor is on a holiday at the moment and does not use it, but does not use it old Shkoda either, report our sources from Bourgas city.

He usually is a passenger in the cars of his friends and collaborators.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party Bourgas mayor nominee possesses his own home - 97, 46 sq. m. big, near by the center of the city. Hi also have 19/90 ideal parts from a house and a yard plot - 420 sq. m. in "G. Voden" quarter in Asenograd town as a grant from his parents.

One more apartment - 70 sq. m. has his wife Maria. It is a grant from her parents and at the present the family lives in this apartment.

Tankov became a deputy two years ago replacing Georgi Parvanov after Paranov was elected to become the new Bulgarian president. Rumors in town say that till this very moment he was making private business. The deputy, who is also a municipal leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party in Bourgas, never had had any firms, verification in "Apis" system shows regardless the rumors. Owner of two companies is his wife Maria. The first company - "ТSТ-2" never started to work since its registration, Tankov specifies. The second company for retail - "Trade Chain Charlie" is the second company and it operates at the present.

The deputy is still in the list of Board of the directors of Professional soccer club "Chernomorets", owened by Ivailo Drajev. Nevertheless, because of his duties as a newly elected deputy, a copy of a request to be discharged of the board of the directors of the sport club was shown to "24 hours" reporter. During the weekends her husband and their two children - Alexander and Ema enjoy to travel to Goliamo Bukovo village in Strandja Mountain, where they have a country house.

Haik possesses around 300 sq. m. big plot situated out of town planning in Ravadinovo village near by Sozopol.

This fact has revealed the mayor nominee for "24 hours" daily. He attacks the local power on behalf of the Green party.

The famous citizen of Bourgas has a one year practice as a municipal councilor. He told our reporter to have two automobiles - Mercedes S 430 three-years old, signed over his name and two-year old Audi signed over the name of his wife. He also declared to have approximately 100 000 lv. in cash. "The wealth is in the joint-stock company participation", the green leader concluded having in mind Professional soccer club '"Naftex" JSCo. and Bourgas Duty Free zone.

According to the last changes occurred in the Professional soccer club '"Naftex" JSCo. on July, 29, 2003, 99,85 % of the shares are possession of "Naftex Bulgaria Holding" and the rest of the shares are in the hands of physical persons, "Apis" information system shows.
