Bulgarian groups, who control the narco traffic and the contraband, have established a long lasting partnership with the Serbian bandit clans.

Almost all of the representatives of the Serbian mafia have come many times to the country, according to police sources.

11 thousands people were arrested in Serbia after the assassination of the Prime Minister Zoran Djindjich.

On December, 20 in Belgrade the trial against representative of the Serbians’ clans starts, all of them arrested in so called "Sabre" operation.

The expectations are that the defendants to set up their partners, including those located in Bulgaria.

Since the South-embargo till today the Serbian gangsters maintained contact with our force groups.

The legal and illegal business of their clans has passed through Bulgaria, as well. They have registered dozens of companies in our country. All this has happened thanks to an unofficial agreement between Bulgaria and Serbia, well informed sources claims. Most of the guests are now death or missing, others are witnesses to the trial.

The murder of Zoran Djindjich Milorad Lukovitz – Legia, boss of the Zemun clan

Has come

several times

to Bulgaria

according excellent informed sources. He has passed here several hours, or as much as a day. He was seen in Bulgaria for the last time in February, shortly prior Zoran Djindjich’s assassination.

The most important witness in Djindjich’s trial is Liubisha Buha-Chume. He is the boss of Surchinski clan and the biggest enemy of Legia. The boss of Zemun clan and his partner Dushan Spasoevich-Shipter tried to kill Chume by detonating his 13 million dollar business; they also have kidnapped his wife.

That is why Chume agrees to testify against Zemun people regarding Djindjich’s assassination.

His witness-collaborator status gives him the right not to be treated as a defendant in the assassination trial of the Serbian Prime Minister. Considering his participation in the process of disclosure of some of the most important trials in Serbia, the prosecutors have made decision to accuse him only of association with criminal aim.

After the victory of the democratic oriented parties in 2000 year elections officially government in Serbia make an attempt to reveal series of murders and a special group called "Grass-snake" is formed by the police. The head of the group is Mile Novakovich.

The cops find out that a leading group in Serbia is the aggressive and well-organized Zemun clan leaded by Dushan Spasoevich and Legia. At the same time Shipter runs away to France. He is traced because of a failed attempt to assassinate the famous Serbian politic Vuk Drashkovich. In October, 2001 Shipter is arrested in France on suspicion of organizing the kidnapping of Serbian multi-millionaire Miroslav Mishkovich for $ 3.5 millions ransom.

Spasoevich is extradited in Belgrade and immediately released from the arrest. His guarantee of 20 thousands marks is paid by Serbian mafia boss, very closed to the Bulgarian groups.

Meanwhile Surchinski clan remains calm hiding under Djindjich’s shoulder. Chume’s people permeate into the security of the opposition forces. Zemun clan starts to loose his positions. The war between Shipter, Legia and Chume becomes inevitable. The conflicts between three of them becomes more and more often every time when it come to collecting money in different schemes.

In 2001 the police chief Bojko Buha is killed. He is a relative and much closed to Chume.

In spite of this Chume accepts Shipter in his house in attempt to solve the disagreements in their relations. They are drinking coffee but there is a poison in Chime’s cup and he almost die.

Soon after "the coffee incident" Chume survives in assassination attempt in Zemun field, but his bodyguard pays with his life.

For the last time Legia was in Bulgaria in February only for a few hours, well informed source claims. On March, 12 Djindjich is shot dead, Shipter is killed and Legia is taken out to Bosnia, where he has been a soldier and could count on supporters. They "export" him by putting him into a trunk of a police car.

Chume – partner with Poli

Pantev and Karamanski

The most important witness against Zemun clan Liubisha Buha-Chume is from the Belgrade’s suburb Surchin. He creates one of the first groups in ex Yugoslavia in the beginning of 90’s. Later he becomes Zemun’s main body. They are dealing with car traffic, contraband of oil, petrol products and cigarettes. During all these years Chume has a reputation of businessmen who discretely and at first glance from a distance controls his group. He and his attendant have possessed official cards from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and later cards from State Security Service also. They describe him as an erudite and well-prepared cadre. Milan Narandjich-Limun,

Liubomir Yovanovich-Stakleni, as well as assassinated Zoran Shian and Zvonko Plechich are other significant and important members of Surchin clan. They all have come to Bulgaria. In the times of South-embargo they’ve organized the oil export from Heftohim mill Bourgas toward Belgrade with barges.

Agent 007

Liubisha Buha-Chume came to Bulgaria several times between 1993 and 1995. He establishes connections with representatives from the Bulgaria force groups. According to information given by the Ministry of Internal Affairs he becomes friend with the deceased Ivo Karamanski, who often traveled to Serbia. Chume becomes close also with the late SIK guy Poli Pantev, who in those times spends certain time in Belgrade. Bulgarian and Serbian "representatives" quickly becomes partners in the international import export of cars, wheat, fuels, alimentary goods, cigarettes, agricultural techniques, machines and fertilizers. They are making bomb after bomb... The main participant in the money laundry on the part of Liubisha Buha-Chume is Predrag Rankovish-Pechoni. Chume himself has companies registered in Bulgaria. In the end of 90’s the group transforms into an international group of cocaine and heroine contraband at the Balkans, Ministry of Internal Affairs report shows.

The narco-groups and the Bulgarians

Since the crisis in Kosovo in 1999 most of the representatives of the Serbian clans are coming to Bulgaria with changed personal identity or by men of straw. This is provoked by security reasons. The cops named them a dynamic category of guests who come and leave. Meanwhile the number of the young Serbian that starts legal and criminal business here in Bulgaria augments. Liubisha Buha-Chume also stops to come openly to Bulgaria.

He remains a discrete financier. Dushan Spasoevich-Shipter is the new group representative. For a while he is Chume’s right hand. At the end of the last year at Kalotina-The Garden frontier post 100 kg cocaine is captured. The organizers are

Shipter and VIS narco-group, the policemen reveal. No evidences were found. At the same time a well known potato boss and several times blasted businessman and yachtsman are still sworn brothers. The policemen reveal points of intersection between "the friends" and Shipter. He has been seen around the twin houses of the potato and the cigarette bosses in Borovetz mountain resort. The fact is that after the bust-up between sworn brothers, unknown people accompany armoured G-class Mercedes "to escape" from the potato boss, to pass through the yachtsman and to land in Belgrade where Shipter is. "The fee" is a punitive action against the potato boss who has owed money to Zemun, according to one of the version about this story. At this time Liubisha is already in conflict with Shipter and Zemun guys.

Dugi’s people have registered and have

a company in a real estate owned by BODK

The deceased Branislav Lainovich-Dugi from Novi Sad recently has jointed the leaders of Serbian clans in Bulgaria. During the war in Croatia he has commanded a Guards, organized and funded by Vuk Drashkovich’s opposition Serbian movement for renovation. Croatian people admire him as a hero from the war.

In 1994 Lainovich comes to live permanently in Bulgaria accompanied by one big Serbian crowd. Among them are also Predrag Belich, Svobodan Lainovich and Miladin Suvaidjich – at the moment one of the most important witnesses against the Zemun clan. In 1995 Dugi together with some friend registered "Gold Boy" company at 7 Shipka Str. right in front of Russian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia.

Today big sign "For lend" could be found there and coordinates of ADIS company are standing on the wall. ADIS is the successor of BODK, responsible for settle down the foreign diplomats in Bulgaria.

People who are not diplomats or at least are not recommended by the respective embassy which to guarantee for them are not allowed to live in those real estates, according to the strict procedure, well informed sources claim.

Dugi and his people had possessed cards of collaborators of Serbian Secret Services, excellent informed person declares. The group has leaved in BODK’s real estate located in Iztok neighborhood as well, according to an independent source.

In diplomatic building at 7 Shipka Str. other Serbian companies are registered also. "Exprim" company for example, founded in 1994, owned by Irena Markovish and Momchilo Churchich – Yogoslavian citizens. Accidentally or not the boss of the Serbian State Security Service in the time of Slobodan Milochevich is called Rade Markovich and his deputy’s name is Nikola Churchich. Again at 7 Shipka Str. in January 1995 "Bulmat" company is registered on the name of Milan Yovanovich from Belgrade and Dushan Trivalish from Fraiburg, Switzerland. They all together had shared one house with Dugi and his friends.

Ministry of Internal Affairs now is checking how these companies have been registered and settled at this address. Till editorial closure of this issue the result has not been announced.

Dugi was an owner of public houses in Sofia and Borovetz mountain resort. He also had three wives. One of them – Dolores now is in an Italian prison. She is the cousin of Robert Shkaritza – Robi, narco-dealer killed in Bulgaria.

On January, 15, 2000 Dugi organizes the assassination of Jelko Rajniatovich-Arkan. Two months later, on March 20, 2000 he is shot dead with two bullets in front of "Serbia" hotel in Belgrade. After his death the Shipter and Chume stand at the head of the Zemun clan. Shipter deals with the narco-tarffic through Bulgaria towards Belgrade.

Dugi’s partner Miladin Subaidjich is a main competitor of Slobodan Miloshevich’s son Marco in the entertainment business. They probably had some disputes in Bulgaria, where in 1993 one of Marco’s partners Vladan Kovachevich – Tref has registered "Tref - Sofia" company. Vladan Kovachevich is killed in 1997 as well as the other main Marco Miloshevich’s partner – Vladimir Borkan, Greek with Serbian origin. He is shot in October 7, 2000.

Shipter and the Bulgarian trafficants

In the beginning of his business the boss of Zemun Clan operates with Chume’s money. During the last nine years more than 27 members of his band are involved in production and selling of heroin, cocaine, marihuana and amphetamines. Part of his people assisted Bulgarian narco-groups, as middle men with Turkish narco dealers.

In the beginning of his activity in Bulgaria Shipter started to make money together with Poli Pantev the late SIK member– in 90’s related with the Kurdish group of Said

brothers, police sources reveal. In this company were also included Robert Stefanov killed in 1999 in "Sukata Reka" neighborhood. Stefanov made his first funds thanks to South-embargo by smuggling oil, cigarettes and alcohol.

Robert, Pantev and Shipter were partners in amphetamine and heroin traffic, cops say. The Serbians themselves have old and long-lasting contacts with narco-cartels in Latin America, special police officer claims.

In the end of 90’s Shipter and his company

incorporate Bulgarian groups

in cocaine business

The ill-famed 600 kilograms of cocaine, disappeared in the hands of the group close to Poli Pantev and Robert Stefanov, are also guaranteed by the Serbian. Serbian clans are standing behind most of the biggest cocaine shipments detained in Bulgaria, Ministry of Internal Affair’s source claim.

Shipter and Zemun clan had worked with one of the most powerful Bulgarian narco-trafficants – the deceased Rumen Yanevski. In the last years of his life he traveled across Venezuela, Spain, Bulgaria and Serbia. On January 23, 2003 Yanevski had a planned meeting with Zemun clan representative in Sofia. Unknown assassinator shot him death in his jeep and he could not attend.

One of the "Balkans screws" in the net of heroin traffic is Mehmed Ali Karakafa, who lived many years in Sofia and

had a company registered at

"Hristo Botev" Blvd.

by covering his main business with diuner grilled meat. He has appeared in the country in 1995 and has disappeared last spring, shortly after Zoran Djindjich’s assassination, police data reveal.

The Biggest Enemy of Zemun

Clan Has Lived in Bulgaria

Branislav Dugi Makes Business with "Multgroup" and Lives in BODK’s Block of Flats

Nadia Cholakova

Stanimir Vaglenov

The late commander of independent province Voivodina Branislav – Dugi the most fascinating representative of the Serbian underground world, has lived in our country. He has businesses in Bulgaria, Spain, Netherlands, France, Italy, and Monaco. There are no closed doors for him. He is welcomed everywhere, even at a government level in some cases. In Bulgaria his partners are Ilia Pavlov and other businessmen of his rank. Dugi is a deadly enemy of Slobodan Miloshevich. He is suspected about the assassination of Jelko Rajniatovich-Arkan. Several days prior his killing Dugi stays in the "Ambassador" hotel in Sofia.

Croatia in 90’s. The war

In the heat of the war in Croatia Branislav Lainovich – Dugi commands pro-military formation, organized and funded by the opposition Serbian movement for renovation of Vuk Drashkovich. Over 200 of his soldiers from Serbian Kraina "are flying" in the battles. In addition to use them in the war, Dugi provides for them. In 1992 he is prostrated just few centimeters from the heart. He appeals to everyone who care about Voivodina and Serbia to take part in the fight against the government, who does the impossible in order not to hand over the power.

Branislav Lainovich settles down in Bulgaria in 1994. He is accompanied by an entire Serbian "suite". Among are them Predrag Belich, Svobodan Lainovich and Miladin Suvaidjich. Dugi and his friends registered the first and the only one company called "Gold boy" Ltd.

Sofia in 90’s: Oasis for diplomats

The curious fact is that Serbian group settles down in a beautiful two-storey house at 7 "Shipka" Str, in Sofia. There are many offices of Serbian companies there. The house is a diplomatic property, managed by BODK. The rent procedure when it comes to such real-estates, at the present, could not be allowed for non-diplomats or at least people who are not recommended by the respective embassy, who guarantee for them. Dugi and his people had had cards of Serbian Special Services’s collaborators. They’ve used other BODK accommodations in "Iztok" neighborhood, as well.

Around 20 men are forming a small Serbian Diaspora around Dugi. Some of them are veterans from the war. That gang is a permanent presence in luxury Serbian restaurant at "Oborishte" Str. But the veterans from Dugi’s group can not be described as cannibals, their attendant states for "168 hours weekly". They were great and jolly fellows. They make tours to the pubs till sunrise and spent a lot of money. They have not bodyguards. They all were toll and well-built as athletes, but Dugi has over two meters height. The girls could resist them. Serbian and the beauties have mixed together as

balls of snakes

Dugi and his group develop trade activity in Bulgaria in "the gold" moment of the South-embargo. These times they deal with ex VIS, SIK and most of the largest contrabandists. Dugi was a friend to the deceased "MG holding" boss Ilia Pavlov. They make business with sugar and oil during the South-embargo. The legal and illegal business of the groups is also implicated as "balls of snakes". Dugi and his people export salt, cars, oils, wheat, sugar, machines and other row materials, according to the official information.

The shady business of the group in Sofia is handed by Miladin Suvaidjich, called Djura Mutavi (The clumsy guy). At the moment he is one of the most important witnesses in the trial against Zemun clan. The clumsy guy deals with traffic with arms, cocaine, heroin and amphetamines, well informed persons claim. In 1996 – 1997 Suvaidjich controls the forced insurance services and distribution of narcotics in Voivodina, but Dugi domineers as a local boss. At the same time they are living in Serbia, Bulgaria and Europe at once. The king of the amusements, this is Dugi’s nickname. He opens a lot of luxury bars in Marbea, Amsterdam, Paris, Belgrade, Borovetz etc. Marco Miloshevich is his sole competitor in this business in this period. Bladan Kovachevich, who also has lived in Bulgaria, is the right hand of the playboy Marco. He registered in Sofia "Tref" company.

Italy: "Mission impossible"

Meanwhile Dugi and his girl-friend Dolores Shkaritza leave to a secret mission in Italy. They are chasing one bank boss, escaped from Slobodan Miloshevich with several millions of dollars. Dugi and Dolores kidnap him and ask him if it would be convenient for him to give back the money, an excellent informed source familiar with the Serbian Diaspore, declares for "168 hours" weekly. The banker stitches them up to the cops. Dugi escapes but his friend gets a 7-year sentence. It is a pity for the beautiful Dilores, all Bulgarian girls entitled to be "Miss Bulgaria" do not deserve even to bring her water.

After the crisis in Kosovo is passed representatives of Serbian clans are coming to Bulgaria more really. Usually they have more than one forged passports and do not poster themselves. Young boys with clean records are coming on their behalf. From now on they take control over the business. Thus in the end of 90’s Dugi comes to Bulgaria more and more rarely and in a total conspiracy. In 1998 in Bulgaria comes his deputy – 23-years old Croatian Roberth Shkaritza, cousin of the beautiful Dolores. The young man is rich. He runs hotels and public places in Croatia, but he gets embroiled with his relatives. He registers two companies in Sofia with main activity trade with citrus fruit. "All day long he has done nothing but watching video. He has lived in a luxury apartment, visited also by Dugi when it happened to come to Bulgaria in secret.", well informed person says.

Miladin Suvaidjich – The clumsy guy, continues to deal with the shady deeds of the group.

2000 – the war between Voivodiski and Zemun clans

People around Dugi, The clumsy guy and Shkaritza refuse to give financial reports to the representatives of the Zemun clan - Dushan Spasoevich-Shipter and Milorad Lukovich-Legia,. In 2000 Voivodinski’s people even shelter Nenad Milenkovich, an ex favorite of the Zemun’s people, in Sofia. In the pat he has worked with them, but after some hooligan incident, Shipter and Legia want to see him death and he starts to hide in Sofia. The same year Miladin Suvaidjich – The clumsy guy disappears and never come back to Bulgaria.

Belgrade: Shipter and Legia kidnap The Clumsy guy

Shipter and Legia nab Miladin Suvaidjich – The clumsy guy in Belgrade and kidnap him, police source reveals. This is because he denies to pay them several million marks. "They have put him in a house controlled by the Zemun clan where he has been trained as a pet.", one of "168 hours" weekly assistants form Belgrade tells. "All day long The clumsy guy cleans, washes, cooks. He deals with bunch of everyday and humiliating things."

Bit by bit Legia and Shipter start to like The Clumsy guy and accept him in Zemun clan. Dugi does not know about it. At this very moment a hot conflict between Branislav Lainovich and Jelko Rajniatovich-Arkan is going on.

On January 15, 2000 the leader of the tigers – Arkan, is shot death. Branislav Lainovich is interrogated in connection with the murder of Rajianovich by the police in Novi Sad.

Dugi is not startled. He even gives a scandal interview saying: "There is not such state where for all week newspapers write about one criminal made thousands of mothers to cry and involved in many murders. At the same time Serbia mourns over just three days for the assassinated Minister of Defense". Dugi declares his plans to be a candidate for Novi Sad’s mayor.

Bulgaria: "Amassador" hotel

In March, 2000 "Ambassador" hotel in Sofia is already renovated after the terrible explosion. At that time two Armenians detonated themselves while preparing a bomb for Poli Pantev’s assault, Ministry of Internal Affair claims. On March, 17 Dugi registers in the hotel and meets with Poli Pantev the same night. On the next morning he leaves to Belgrade. On March 20 Miladin Suvaidjich – The clumsy guy, calls y the phone Branislav Lainovich and settles a meeting in front of "Serbia" hotel, the cops’ reports show. The clumsy guy does not come. At this moment unknown killers shot death Branislav Lainovich. Suvaidjich and Zemun clan play a key role in his death; there is no other version about this story, so far. The clumsy guy shows prosperity buying property after property in Voivodina.

Sofia, 2003: the end of Voivodinski clan

Roberth Shkaritza and Nenad Milenkovich remain the key representatives of Voivodinski clan in Sofia. They make it up with the enemies from Zemun clan and start to do business together. They also become partners with Surchinki clan and the Arab group leaded by a scandal boss, killed recently. He was a doyen in the business with amphetamines. After "Sabre" operation Sharitza and Milenkovish make an attempt to take some place remained uncovered in the heroin market in Belgrade. After "Sabre" operation gangsters from Zemun clan have forced Milenkovich and Shkaritza about money, the cops say. Most probably they’ve ask him also for a shelter.

On June 3, Roberth Sharitza is shot death in front of his house in Sofia. A month later in a special police raid Nenad Milenkovich is detained. "Milenkovich is a dangerous boss from the Zemun clan responsible for over 20 killings", says the announcement received from Serbia.

One way or another decapitates of Sharitza and Milenkovich delete Voivodinski clan from Bulgaria. Who could order this?
