Killed when the KC-130 he was piloting crashed into a mountain just before making a landing at a nearby base in Shamsi  near Pakistan.

He was one of six soldiers killed during a firefight on March 3, 2002 attempting to retrieve the remains of a US soldier whom had fallen from his aircraft after heavy fire from enemy forces.  This battle took place during a intense assault on suspected Al-Qaeda and Taliban  fighters.

He died after the Blackhawk helicopter he had been in crashed on Oct 19, 2001 during poor visibility as the attacks on terrorist strongholds had begun in Afghanistan.  He was one of two Rangers killed in the accident.
