We are Barbara and Ed and live aboard our 38' sailboat with our ship's cat: Perkins. We are presently in Trinidad and Tobago which is the southern-most Caribbean Island.
To reach Trinidad we sailed down the east coast of the US from Virginia to Florida. Then we crossed the Gulf Stream to the Bahamas. From here, we followed a route which has been dubbed the "thornless passage." This route island hops through the Caribbean. It would be impossible to select our favorite so far, but we did make a side trip to Venezuela and plan to spend several months there next year.
While in Trinidad we will complete boat projects and get ready for next years sailing season.
We plan to head out in March after the Trinidad Carnival.
