Group
Welcome to the Shore Vulvodynia
Support Group's Web Page. We are happy that you
are visiting our part of the world today. Our web site will contain up-to-date
links of recent information on vulvodynia as well as lists of medical
professionals who deal with our syndrome. We will need everyone's help with
their own information on vulvodynia and the doctors that they feel are
adequately informed on vulvodynia. We hope that we can begin Chat Rooms
so you can join in on chats. Hopefully, we will be able to have chats going on
throughout the day and night so that no one will ever feel isolated or alone
with our so-called ... "all in your head" ... pain. We welcome women onto our
site from all over the world and would love to hear from and about each one of
you, your problem and your treatment.
We are here for support, kindness,
comfort, love and trust and we will treat everyone as an equal for vulvodynia
or vulvae pain. Today, March 5, 2000, we have taken our very first step with
hopes to accomplish a warm home on the internet that one can visit, gain a bit
of knowledge or make a new friend, with a hot cup of coffee or tea, anytime of
the day or night. While looking through our site, I will give you a
background on the original SVSG. We were/are a group of women from mid-coastal
New Jersey. SVSG came about six years ago with a few of us. We have grown and
met/meet regularly with monthly support meetings and dinners. At our meetings,
we have guest speakers from medical fields who now know about and deal with
patients of this type of pain. We have now grown to a support group of over
35 women who range in ages from young twenties through seventies, from all parts
of New Jersey! We know that each one of us can call another, at any given time,
and there is always an ear to listen. Through our support, trust and love, we
now have become more than just a support group - we are now a loving, trusting,
caring group of friends. We have grown, laughed, cried and found comfort in
each other - knowing that we are always there for each other no matter what the
cause. Let's hope we can find the same in our home on the net.
Enjoy and be well.
"Have
a heart that never hardens, a temper that never tires, and a touch that never
hurts." Charles Dicken
The SVSG has stopped formal meetings until further notice. However, we are always available to talk at a local restaurant while dining or having a cup of coffee. For more information contact Ellen @ eljohnson@optonline.net or Laura @ pinkmair@verizon.net
