History before our story begins...

There is a fine line between what Nicodemus knows about his past, and what his past really entailed. His life essentially began when he woke up in the hospital several months before our story takes place. Saede, of course, was by his bedside. He remembered nothing of his former life, including her.

Later, it was discovered that he had been a Colonel in the Rebellion. From here, the higher members of the rebellion informed him of what they knew regarding his previous life. He had commanded no troops, but had been given promotions based on his effectiveness as an assassin. While they knew he had worked freelance before finally being brought over the rebellion’s cause, they did not have any details regarding previous employers. This effectively put his past at a dead end. However, they did know for a fact that he had taken over 264 missions before his accident, all of witch resulted in at least one confirmed kill.

The staggering number of lives he had taken caused Nico to rethink his career choice. It was only after he resigned from the Rebellion that they informed him of the details of his last assignment. He had been located at a dust-off site on Dantooine. A small rebel encampment located in the town of Denell was hosting Nicodemus when it was attacked. There was nowhere to run during the attack, and the rebels had fought to the man defending the site. A building had fallen on Nicodemus, and he was taken to the nearest hospital when Saede found him. The rebellion also informed Nicodemus that he had turned in his resignation before the attack on Denell, commenting on turning to a cleaner lifestyle.

Nico was without a job, but had a wealth of monitary comfort as well as a small living space on Dantooine. He lived off of this while he was out of work. Saede had been told to look after Nico, and had finally moved in with him full time. During this time, she had become aware of her developing force sensitivity. It wasn’t long before she also noticed Nico’s powers as well. During a confrontation, she finally made him admit that his powers were real, and that he should investigate them.

We begin with Nico in a transitional time. He is aware of his powers, but becoming more and more unable to control them. He has no job, is tired consistently exhausted and listless, and no visible future. At least not yet.
