Welcome to the Swampy Ewe-Knitted website!
Swampy Ewe-Knitted is the knitting group for the Isle of Sheppey area and its environs.
The group meets fortnightly on a Thursday lunch time and monthly on a Saturday evening (see Dates for this years scheduled meetings)

We are holding an exhibition at Sheerness Library from 20th October to 22nd November!

Help us keep Sheerness Clock Tower warm this winter!
Everyone else will be wrapping up warm this winter as the weather gets colder and knitwear is the order of the day! But the poor old clock tower in Sheerness Town Centre sits there, year in year out, telling us the time but it's never taken care of. We thought it was about time (excuse the pun) that we did something for the clock! The Sheerness Lights will be going up in November and the poor old clock will go without yet again. So come on people of Sheppey, get your knitting needles out and knit a square for the clock! All donated squares will be sewn together to create a scarf. You can use any wool you want and any stitch you want! Just make sure your square measures approximately 12 inches. You can download a pattern here. Please feel free tocontact me if you have any questions. We hope that the scarf will be placed around the clock on 13th December - so get knitting and we'll see how many times we can get the scarf wrapped around! The more squares, the better it will look!
We also have an exhibition on til 21st November at Sheerness Library - more details are available on the Exhibitions page!
There is also a Name The Bear competition running until 22nd November. The competition proceeds will be donated to Sheppey Community Hospital to purchase toys for the waiting areas.
If you would like to enter the competition, please visit the Sheerness Times Guardian offices in Sheerness High Street. It's 50p per name and the prize is this wonderful hand knitted bear!
