The Tapestry
By Mystic
As Hannah Abbott began to walk down the empty corridor alone, she started to look at one of the tapestries hanging on the wall, when she stared at it for a while she noticed that it started to tell a story, it had little shadow men, surrounding a statue looking up at it in either awe or hatred she didn’t know which. She noticed that the statue was very elegant, it was a statue of a woman and it had a long flowing silver robe that was lined with gold, and had long black hair. The face she wore had fear in her eyes, how the painter got the statue to get this look was something that Hannah wanted to know. As she looked at the tapestry more she noticed that in the corner was a man, she saw that he looked sad and miserable. “What does this mean?” Hannah asked herself.

“Excuse me, but your name is Hannah Abbott, right?” said a startling voice from somewhere behind her. As she turned around she was surprised to see that it was Headmaster Dumbledore.

“Yes sir, it is.” She answered.

“And may I ask as what you are doing?” he asked.

“Well I was walking to the library when I noticed this tapestry.” She said, “and I was wondering if you knew anything about it?”

“Well from what I have heard about this tapestry is that it’s about a man and a women who fell in love, but their love was forbidden because he was a wizard, and she was a vampire. Now since this was over a hundred years ago, different types of creatures were never aloud to be together, it was said, that if two creatures were meant to be together, then they would have been made the same. So a love like that was very looked down upon.” Dumbledore told her.

Hannah was very intrigued by this story that she started to press further into it, “Who are those shadow men surrounding her?” she asked

“Those shadow men are very powerful wise men, when they found out about this forbidden love they told the two that they have to end it or there will be a terrible fate for them. At first they didn’t listen but, later they regretted it when they turned the vampire into stone, very powerful magicks were used. The wizard went into a dazed and confused state as he went and tried to kill all of the shadow men who did this to his love, but the shadow men foresaw this and they cast a protection spell over themselves so that they could not be harmed, then they cast a spell on the wizard so that he was sent to a maze where there was no end, and they tortured him by putting an image of his beloved vampire in his sight, but when he tried to walk towards her he could never catch her.” Dumbledore looked down at the wizard in the corner of the tapestry with a sad and thoughtful glance.

“That is so sad.” Hannah whispered, “Is the wizard…did..did he die?”

Dumbledore looked down at her and shook his head yes, he looked at the tapestry one last time then started walking to his office. Hannah looked back at the painting and couldn’t imagine the pain the two lovers felt.

Later that evening, Hannah fell into a deep sleep, where she dreamed of the forbidden love….

“wha- where am I?” Hannah asked herself as she looked around to find herself in a dungeon that was covered in total darkness. She could still see everything around her and then she saw a handsome man standing in front of her with a concerned look in his brown eyes.

“Jesika, my love, are you alright?” asked the man.

Who is Jesika, Hannah thought to herself. Hannah sat against the cold stone wall looking around the room very confused when suddenly the man said,

“Jesika, it is almost dawn, we need to find somewhere for you to rest until nightfall.” Suddenly Hannah realized that she was this Jesika that this man kept calling her, “I must be dreaming.” She thought to herself, so then she decided that this was her chance to help them.

“Look you must listen to me, these shadow men, they will find out about us and will turn me into stone because we don’t listen to their warnings about us not being together.” Hannah said as she tried to explain what was happening.

“What? What are you trying to say?” the man asked.

“What I am trying to say is that something in the near future will change our lives forever and we will not end up together. We must act now.” Hanna stared into the man’s eyes and hoped that he would believe her. He stared back and she could tell that he was thinking about the situation that she had brought upon him.

“Say, that you are right, then how do the shadow men find out about us?” he asked her

“I don’t know all that I know is that they do. We have to leave, we have to get out of here.” She said to him.

“Ok I have an idea.” He said as he sat down, closed his eyes, took her hands into his and began chanting. Suddenly Hannah felt as if she was being transported by a port-key, and when she opened her eyes they were in front of a coffin, apparently it was hers.

“You must sleep until tonight, then when darkness falls we will leave.” He said.

Hannah hesitantly opened the coffin and climbed in and felt somewhat scared as it closed but then she fell asleep.

“Jesika, wake up, we have to get going.” Hannah looked groggily up at the man and then remembered where she was; she quickly got up and closed the coffin.

“Ok come on there is a ship that is leaving to the U.S. tonight, that will give us enough time to figure out where to go from there, I already have bags packed and they are in the stagecoach, but we must hurry.” He told her.

“Ok good, we can leave tonight.” Hannah said. As they turned to head for the door, two men Hannah recognized as the shadow men, burst through the door.

“Ahh, Gabriel, and your so called loved one, Jesika, how nice it is to meet you.” One of the shadow men said to them. “We are giving you two one last chance to break up this infatuation so that you both may live.”

Hannah suddenly got an idea, she knew that since she could read minds she could send thoughts to Gabriel, all she needed to do was concentrate. Hannah formed the thought in her head and pushed it out towards Gabriel.

“Gabriel its me Jesika can you hear me? If you can just look at me.” Hannah finished this sentence and looked towards Gabriel and was pleased when he looked back at her. “Ok look I have a plan, what I need to do is sire you, I will turn you into a vampire, then you’ll be twice as strong with both wizard and vampire blood running through you, and that goes for me too, but what you need to do though is put up a protection barrier long enough for us to do it. Ok?” she told him. He looked at her and nodded, soon he was chanting a spell that put up a shield around them and Hannah took this chance to try and sire Gabriel, she grabbed him and tilted his head up and found a soft spot on his neck and bit down, she began to suck his blood, she never realized how sweet it could be, but as she continued to feed she got caught off guard by the reaction between her blood and his, she could tell he was too because the shield began to drop as the shadow men began chanting counter spells to bring down their barrier.

Hannah stopped biting him and bit her wrist so that a cut formed and blood began to bleed, she put it up to Gabriel’s mouth and he began to suck her blood. Suddenly the shield dropped because he had stopped chanting, Hannah quickly searched his mind for the spell he was chanting and soon she found it and started chanting it, the shield started to rise up again and Gabriel had finished, leaving Hannah feeling a little lightheaded. He started to tremble and whimper as his body was being transformed, soon there were two vampire-witches that stood before the two shadow men, they all knew that the shadow men didn’t have a chance.

“Jesika, chant this spell with me, the two of us combined will leave the shadow men powerless.” He told her in her mind.

They began to chant the spell together and a glow started coming from the shadow men, the glow kept getting brighter and brighter, the suddenly everything turned dark again, and before the two vampire-witches stood two magickless men, who realized what happened and ran out of the room. Gabriel and Hannah turned towards each other and smiled.

“We made it Jesika.” That was the last thing Hannah remembered hearing from Gabriel before she woke from her sleep.

Hanna got up and got dressed feeling refreshed and happy, she ran down the stairs and saw the tapestry, and to her surprise it had changed and now it showed a man and a women standing before the shadow men with a light shining down on them, and the two lovers were smiling. Hannah looked at it and smiled, knowing that somewhere the two of them were happy.

The end.
