Wild for the Fizzy Stuff By Spooky Mulder |

Author’s note: The following is a segment I wrote for “The Girl in the Tower” (Found under Links), but it was out of place in the story. I was thinking, if I grew up in a muggle environment, then spent the majority of my time in the wizarding world, the thing I would miss most would definitely be Mountain Dew. I felt compelled to write the following scene.
If you haven’t read the story, Sara is Harry’s girlfriend and Snape adores her. (He hates Potter more than ever) Snape has just returned from Diagon Alley, where he has obviously made a little side trip. |

“He threw us out.” Sara told Harry as they stood together in the corridor outside the potions lab. “He said the potion was already brewing and he didn’t want our help. He yelled at us.”
Hermione nodded in agreement. Harry appeared confused and surprised. “He threw YOU out, Sara?” “Yes.” He took one look at her sad face and hurt eyes and was incensed. She looked about to burst into tears. Without another word Harry pushed past the girls and barged into Snape’s lab with Hermione and Sara on his heels. Snape, who had something to his lips, turned his back quickly and was obviously screwing on a cap. “How dare you...” Harry began, then his eyes narrowed with suspicion. “What are you hiding?” “Nothing. Go away!” Snape scowled. Harry grabbed Snape’s arm as he tried to tuck something into his robe. A brief struggle ensued, then Harry had the item in his hand. “Look!” Sara exclaimed, a huge grin bloomed on her face. Hermione’s eyes widened. “It’s a PEPSI!” “Give that back!” Snape yelled and grabbed for the bottle, “It’s MINE!” “I want some!” Hermione insisted and tried to snatch the soda from Harry. “Give it here!” Sara shouted, reaching out and swiping at it. “I get some first!” Harry turned, and tried to run out of the room with the Pepsi, only six hands caught him and he fell to the floor. Snape tried to tackle Harry and the plastic bottle, wet with condensation, slipped from his grip and both girls fell to their knees in a scramble to get to it first. Just as Hermione’s fingers touched it’s slippery surface a bony, knotted hand plucked it away. All four of them looked on in horror as Dumbledore unscrewed the cap and took a big swig. “I do love this muggle soda-pop.” He turned and wandered out with it, smiling and humming to himself. Harry, Hermione and Sara looked to each other in desperation. They leapt to their feet and barreled out of the room. “Professor! WAIT!!” Snape closed the door of the lab, opened a cabinet, and pulled another Pepsi from a bucket of ice. “Morons.” He said and unscrewed the cap. |
