Locked Up With Malfoy
By Swan Mcgee
"So how long has it been Weasley?" Draco sneered.

"Too dam long" Ron scowled.

"Don't use that tone with me Weasley; I'm not the one who got us stuck in here".

"You shut your mouth Malfoy" Ron said, raising his voice; "It's just as much your fault as mine!"

"I think your going senile Weasley" said Draco as he tried again to push the door open. "From what I remember you’re the one who brought up this little known shortcut. "And it was you who said 'the exit is right over there' ". Draco's tone grew furious as he went further on in his description of the events that led to their current dilemma. "And then when we entered this little room you insisted we shut the door to be courteous- but to who?” Ron took no time in responding to Draco's comments.

"I didn't see you saying we shouldn't go this way or make a turn here!”

"How could I- I was carrying all of the books while you were just steering me into this deathtrap! "You should be glad you have someone like Potter to help you. "Without him, you would be considered just another ignorant Weasley, Weasley" Draco said; he soon regretted saying that when Ron's face turned beat red. Ron, now completely overtaken by anger, brought his fist strongly into Malfoy’s jaw. Draco was sent hard into the wall, and then falling onto the stone floor below. He immediately tried to stand up, only getting as far as leaning up against the wall. With all the energy he had, he lunged forward, sending Ron hard into the opposite wall.

"Don't you ever dare lay a finger on me again Weasley" Draco shouted. Ron, still infuriated, slammed Draco back into another wall.

"I would love nothing more than to send you down to the ground again Malfoy" said Ron with overwhelming fury. "But cant you just keep your stupid comments to yourself till we got out of here!"

"I can say whatever the bloody hell I want Weasley" Draco sneered.

"Go right ahead" Ron said, motioning to his clutched fist.

"Well, can we just try and get out of this deplorable room” an outmatched Draco responded.

"How long has it been now Weasley?"

"It has only been 5 minutes since I just told you it was 7 hours!"

"Why was I the one who had to be stuck with a snobby Weasley" Draco said, his voice now dry and scratchy.

"Oh shut up Malfoy; I think we should try again to budge the door".

"I was right- you are going senile Weasley" Draco said as he began to ramble on. "We tried for five dam hours to budge this unbarring door in case you have forgotten". Ron's expression grew anxious as he knew he couldn't hold it in for much longer.

"To make a long story short, I have to use the little boys room Draco".

"Are you bloody mad? Don't even think of doing anything of that sort in here!" Draco screeched.

"Just turn around Draco- unless you want to give the door another shot?" He knew not even Malfoy would argue with him on this.

"Well don't just stand there Weasley, help me try and push this door!" Draco instructed, now with his own set of anxieties. The two tried to use what brutal strength they had left to again push the door open. As they continued to bash at it and pound on it, the door remained unrelenting.

“This room is smaller than a bathroom; why the hell would someone have a door like this to a glorified closet” Draco shouted out.

“Did you stop to consider maybe this used to be part of a much longer hallway that got blocked off?” Ron was still trying to figure out the error he made to lead them to where they were now. He pondered over and over again the map’s he had examined, all showing a corridor they should have come upon.

All that lit the tiny room was a single torch. It provided an adequate amount of light for them. But it didn't shine any more light on their situation though. They had just gone to a long ago forgotten chamber to pick up some even longer ago forgotten books. They left on their journey at three o'clock p.m. on the dot; ten and a half hours later, they were still waiting to be able to deliver the books. Dumbledore, who appointed the task to them days earlier, was probably not even waiting for their return.

"If only this room had a window" Ron said as he sulked.

"Oh yeah- if only this room had a window, maybe another door- one that’s unlocked too". Draco's sarcasm was still at its greatest level, even in his current situation. "And if only the room had a juggler, an elephant, and a clown you might feel right at home". Ron stood up, more infuriated than he had ever been in his life.

"You son of a b*tch" he screamed as he was about to take down Malfoy again. Draco dove to the floor as Ron smashed, nearly headfirst, right into the door. Still dazed from the impact, he got to his feet; "That's it Malfoy- this is gonna hurt you alot more than it'll hurt me". As Ron was about to clobber him, Draco mumbled, "It's open".

"What was that- speak up while you still can" Ron said, his comments anguishing.

"THE DOORS OPEN!!" Draco exclaimed. Ron turned around to find the door wide open. Draco took no time in going back to his old ways; "I guess I was right about that hard head of yours Weasley". Ron ran out of the room with the torch, his anger replaced with joy and relief. "Wait up" Draco yelled as he found himself alone in the dark. "Dam Weasley"

The two hungry, sleepy, and exhausted students made their way back from the shadows.

"I hope you know where you’re going this time Weasley" Draco said sarcastically.

"I know exactly where I'm going thank you very much" Ron replied with decisiveness. "All that’s left is going through this door; see?"

"Well, at least you didn't screw our return trip up" said Malfoy with bitter acknowledgement. As Draco passed by a large stone statue, something didn't seem right at all. "I don't remember there being any statues anywhere’s around here?"

"We're almost there- calm down" Ron answered. They were soon in an intersection; eight interlocking hallways stood around them. Draco turned to Ron's now horror filled expression;

"So which way was the exit again?"
