Cast Note: When this project was announced in mid-2000, Charlize Theron was to star, as well as produce, but now (1/25/01), Angelina Jolie is in talks for the role. Director: Andy Tennant (Anna and the King, Ever After: A Cinderella Story, It Takes Two, Fools Rush In) Screenwriter: C. Jay Cox (debut) Premise: This is the story of a young woman (Jolie) from a "white trash" background who runs away from her husband in Alabama and reinvents herself as a New York socialite. When her Park Avenue boyfriend proposes marriage, she returns home to tell her parents the good news and obtain a divorce from her husband.
