The SWC Family Website creates an SWC Family Website Group at SmartGroups.com. While the SWC Family Website at Smartgroups has the standard group features of message-posting and file - sharing, its particular focus is on making use of the database available at SmartGroups.
One such database is The SWC Family Birthday Page, which has now been started and is "housed" there, viewable to swc folks who join the group. SWCers can also include on the Birthday Page such contact information as they feel comfortable sharing, such as personal website URL's, etc. The SWC Family Website at SmartGroups is designed to work in tandem with the SWC Family Website here at:

With tears and laughter, we say goodbye and grateful thanks to TheFire and SWC Chat as we know it at Spiritweb.org, and TheFire says goodbye and an appreciative thankyou to us. "Juminar: SWC MEMBERS AND FAMILY:---FROM JUMINAR AND DARKBLADE:
It is with great pleasure that I make the announcement that
Darkblade has accepted ownership of the SWC Photo Gallery and
all of it's contents therein. I had asked Darkblade 2 years ago
this month if he would accept, and at the time, he could not.
I asked him again (now two years later), and he has graciously
accepted. I have a business, but I also will be working part-time
and attending a university this Fall, so I feel it is necessary
for the Gallery's growth, and for the members/future members of
SWC, to not be delayed in having their pics posted in the
Gallery. I also feel (as Rboots did) that Darkblade will do an
excellent job of making the Gallery all that it should be! I
also feel that Darkblade will manage it's contents with great
care and foresight. ALSO, the Gallery will be temporarily
closed for an undetermined, but short, period of time to be
revamped with the new info and changes that have needed to be
made. It will stay in it's current location in case, for any
reason, Darkblade can no longer take ownership, and then it
will be handed back to me. Any new, fantastic changes that occur
once the site is back up, will be due to Darkblade's wonderful
talents! Congratulations Darkblade, the new SWC Photo Gallery Owner and Gallery Master.------
MESSAGE FROM DARKBLADE: Thank you, for a short period of time,
I will not be accepting any photographs while I work on the site
and when it is ready, I will inform everyone and give them the URL.

Folks I have been doing some research, and I am happy to say that it is within my capabilities to create a new chat site modeled after the system at SWC, and we could have even more options and capabilities. I am presently working on a chat module in my spare time, which I will offer up when it is working so you all can offer feedback as to any changes or additions you would like to see. After that time, if this is agreeable to the majority, we can set it up on it's own domain, however there will have to be either a membership fee or workable donation system to support the costs it will take to sustain the system. Please let me know if you are interested in this idea. I could also use the help of a couple tech saavy persons. Awenydd"

Things are lively, with the upcoming closing of Spiritweb Chat on June 14th, 2002. Many SWC folk are forming various online communities and seeking out other chat places. This site was formed out of the desire to have one, central place where SWC people can find out about all the communities, and also contact one another at and through this website.
CHAT:
Both dancer and Ten2Ten have expressed an interest in setting up a chat program.
The links to other chat places are on the Chat page; this will be kept updated as new sites are discovered.
