Skytte en Kul Hobby
Shooting a "Bang" of a Hobby

This is a Swedish Brochure on recreational and competitive shooting. It was printed in 1980 by the Skytteforbundens Overstyrelse, Box 5010, 102 41 Stockholm.

Note, they all have their ear-protection on, but none of them are wearing glasses. There are spent cartridges on the ground, would they have included that in a staged photo? The rifles appear to be accurized match rifles made from M1896 Swedish Mausers, in 6.5x55mm.

The translations are mine. I was a high school exchange student in Motala 21 years ago, Proper grammer and extensive vocabulary was not a big priority to me then, and I've had all those years for memories to fade. The three unique letters a-ring, a-umlaut and o-umlaut, can be written in some versions of html, but it doesn't display well, so I just left them as a or o where I write Swedish words, you can see the correct version on the image. In afew cases I have used a liberal rather than literal translation, such as the title, which, appears to be a play on words, "kul" means fun and "kula" means bullet, the word "ball" as in "ball ammo" or "have a ball" is a similar situation.
