Animals

Our family is not made up of just humans, but living with us are also two dogs, one cat, and a tank full of fish. I am an animal lover and I enjoy the opportunity to teach children respect for animals and nature.  I believe it is a kinder adult who once loved an animal, I love the joy on a child’s face when they make friends with another creature. All the animals in our home are friendly and considered hand tame. But we live by the motto "anything with a mouth can bite" I try my best to teach the children how to properly handle each of the animals and will not allow children to handle animals unsupervised (with the exception of the cat who wanders at will)
The names of our animals, so you will know who or what your child is talking about, The Rhodesian Ridgeback is Bandit. The Chihuahua is Chiquita; the big gray tabby cat is Max.
Payments

All payment of fees must be made in advance of care, usually two weeks at a time; your personal contract will reflect YOUR payment schedule. Payment is due by close of business on your schedules payment date. There is a $15. /day late fee for payments not received by this time. Habitual late payment of fees will be considered breech of contract and will result in termination of care, without notice. This is my employment; it is how I make my living. Like you I have bills and other expenses. I budget according to payment schedules. How many days would you be willing to wait after payday for your paycheck?
Trial Period

Before signing a contract for care you will have the option of a two-week trial period. At the end of the two weeks the caregiver or the parent may discontinue care without notice. If you wish to continue care after the two weeks period a contract must be signed and appropriate payments must be made before care can continue. If you wish to use the two week trial period you must tell me in advance and the following conditions apply: The fee for the two weeks MUST be paid in FULL, before the first day of care. It is NOT refundable even if care terminates before the 2-week trial has expired.  All forms must be complete and there is a $25.00 non refundable administration fee.
Contracts

I will draw up a contract that will list all the agreed terms between us. It must be completed and signed before care can begin or before your two-week trial ends, if you wish to continue. I happily accept childcare subsidy but all forms must be complete and I need my copy of the agreement before care can begin
Termination of agreement

Either the parent or the caregiver must give a minimum of two weeks if the agreement is to be terminated. Two weeks fees maybe substitued for notice. In other words you will be required to pay for the following two weeks if no notice is given. Please note I reserve the right to terminate care without notice if there are extreme behaviour problems, that we have not been able to work out. Or if there is a breech of contract, non payment of fees, habitual late payment of fees or habitual late pick up.
Refunds/ Vacation/holidays

Your spot in daycare is reserved for you; there will be no refunds when your family goes on vacation.
When I go on vacation I will provide notice of closure and/or provide a suitable substitute. You will not be expected to pay fees for the period of time I close for MY vacation.  If I close my daycare without notice due to illness credit will be given for the days I am closed if you have pre paid for them.
